  • Publication number: 20040011611
Abstract: The invention relates to an operating material supply device for hydrodynamic components, in particular hydro-dynamic switching elements in starting units, retarder assemblies or gearing assemblies, having an operating material reservoir which is arranged in the housing of the starting unit or retarder unit or gearing assembly and comprises an operating material sump with at least one filling line which connects the operating material sump to the hydrodynamic component. The invention is characterized by the following feature: the operating material sump can be closed in a pressure-tight manner.

  • Publication number: 20030167761
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling and filling a hydrodynamic clutch (2), whereby the hydrodynamic clutch (2) comprises at least two blade wheels that, together, form a toroidal working space, to which at least one supply line (30) and one discharge line (32) are assigned. According to the inventive method, a set variable can be preset for a variable, which at least indirectly characterizes the functional state of the hydrodynamic clutch (2) and which serves as an input variable of a control device (8) assigned to the associated lubricant or operating material supply system (4). The control device comprises a pressure balance for controlling an adjusting device for influencing the operating material supply of the hydrodynamic clutch (2).

  • Patent number: 6561938
Abstract: The invention related to a hydrodynamic-mechanical multi-speed compound transmission has at least four speeds. The transmission includes a transmission input shaft and a transmission output shaft as well as a hydrodynamic transmission part. The hydrodynamic and the mechanical transmission parts are connected in series when seen from the power flow direction. Mechanisms are provided for by-passing the hydrodynamic transmission part during power transmission. The hydrodynamic transmission part includes at least one hydrodynamic speed-torque converter. The mechanical transmission part includes a mechanical speed-torque converting device with at least two planetary gear sets. The mechanical transmission part is designed in such a way that transmission ratios in the individual gear steps cause gear step jumps of phi ≦1.45 between two successive gear steps of the individual speeds.

  • Patent number: 6231467
Abstract: The invention relates to a hydrodynamic mechanical compound transmission comprising a transmission input shaft (E), a transmission output shaft (A), a hydrodynamic transmission part (2) and a mechanical transmission part (4). Said mechanical transmission part (4) comprises at least one speed/torque conversion device (5). The output of the mechanical speed/torque converter (5) is at least indirectly drive-connected to the transmission output shaft (1). According to the invention, the hydrodynamic retarder (25) which comprises a stator (26) and a rotor blade wheel (27) is spatially integrated in the transmission housing (11). In addition, the rotor blade wheel (27) of the hydrodynamic retarder (25) is at least indirectly coupled to the output shaft (A) of the mechanical speed/torque converter (5). The hydrodynamic retarder (25) functions as a secondary retarder, however, it is spatially arranged in the transmission before the downstream stage (6).
