  • Patent number: 6239095
Abstract: A process for the preparation of coated peroxygen compounds, in particular sodium percarbonate, by fluidized bed coating. By using a fluidized bed reactor with a radial inflow base, the passage openings of which allow the fluidized bed gas to emerge in the region of the opening at an angle of less than 35°, measured with respect to the horizontal, in the form of directed part streams, and in which are arranged spray nozzles, the pulse of which points in the same direction as the pulse of the fluidizing gas, it is possible to obtain products with an increased active oxygen stability. A circular reactor, the inflow base of which has lamellae overlapping like turbine blades and nozzles aligned in the direction of rotation of the fluidized bed is preferred.

  • Patent number: 6159252
Abstract: This invention relates to a process for the production of granulates by fluidized bed spray granulation and to a device for this purpose. Liquid starting materials may be converted into granulates by fluidized bed spray granulation. In order to ensure elevated material throughput, numerous nozzles, which are moreover susceptible to plugging and encrustation, must be installed. The disadvantages of known processes may be overcome according to the invention by arranging at least two spray nozzles at least partially directed towards each other in such a manner and the quantity of spray is adjusted in such a manner that their spray jets collide within the fluidized bed and substantially no liquid strike-through occurs onto a surface delimiting the fluidized bed or out of the fluidized bed. The spray jets of two spray nozzles directed towards each other collide frontally or enclose an angle of less than 180.degree.; the angle is preferably between 150.degree. and 180.degree..

  • Patent number: 6113805
Abstract: Sodium percarbonate particles stabilized against loss of active oxygen in detergents, bleaches and cleaning agents by the application of a two-layer coating applied by means of a fluidized bed spray process, the inner layer including sodium percarbonate and the outer layer including sodium sulphate.

  • Patent number: 5935708
Abstract: In order to increase active oxygen stability, sodium percarbonate is coated with single or multiple layers of various substances. Sodium percarbonate particles consist of a core of sodium percarbonate fluidized bed spray granulate and sodium sulphate, which may be partially hydrated, as the sole constituent of a single coating layer. The particles exhibit both elevated active oxygen stability and very good ensilability. The coating layer is applied by spraying an aqueous Na.sub.2 SO.sub.4 solution onto the particles to be coated, which were themselves produced by fluidized bed spray granulation, in a fluidized bed and vaporizing water at a fluidized bed temperature of 35 to 100.degree. • Patent number: 5902682
Abstract: Coated sodium percarbonate particles contain, in the coating, sodium carbonate and also one or more magnesium compounds, preferably magnesium sulfate, optionally in a partially hydrated form, in a single layer or in separate layers in the coating. Preferred coated sodium percarbonate particles contain two layers. Particles are prepared by spraying aqueous solutions containing the coating components onto sodium percarbonate in a fluidized bed with simultaneous evaporation of the water. The particles are suitable for use in detergents, bleaches and cleansing agents.

  • Patent number: 5714201
Abstract: A process for reducing dissolution time in the production of sodium percarbonate particles containing an alkali metal silicate as stabilizer by fluidized bed spray granulation and/or by coating sodium percarbonate particles with a coating containing an alkali metal silicate, wherein a solution containing alkali metal silicate is sprayed during production and/or coating which contains alkali metal silicate having a modulus in the range from less than 3 to greater than 1. Sodium percarbonate produced by fluidized bed spray granulation is distinguished by elevated Oa stability and short dissolution times and may thus readily be used in detergents and cleaning products containing silicate builders.

  • Patent number: 5658873
Abstract: Sodium percarbonate is often used in the form of coated particles to increase its storage stability in detergents.Sodium percarbonate particles coated in accordance with the invention have a coating containing reaction products from the reaction of a dialkali metal tetraborate or alkali metal pentaborate with aqueous hydrogen peroxide. Preferred coating components are: perborax with the formula Na.sub.2 B.sub.4 O.sub.7 .multidot.H.sub.2 O.sub.2, where n =2 or 4.The coated sodium percarbonate particles are produced by coating the percarbonate particles using a solution containing the reaction products mentioned above.Detergent, bleaching and cleaning compositions containing sodium percarbonate particles coated in accordance with the invention are distinguished by very high stability in storage.

  • Patent number: 5560896
Abstract: Sodium percarbonate is produced by means of fluidized bed granulation. The process includes spraying an aqueous sodium carbonate solution and a hydrogen peroxide solution onto nuclei in a fluidized bed and evaporating the water. In the process of the invention, it is not necessary to use a phosphorus-containing crystallization inhibitor in order to avoid cloggings and incrustations in and on the nozzle. This is accomplished by spraying the solutions through separate channels in a single ternary atomizer nozzle, to provide external mixing of the solutions with respect to the nozzle.
