  • Patent number: 8956469
Abstract: Method for manufacturing a zinc-coated nonferrous metal component for the production of a corrosion-protected vehicle body in a mixed construction includes providing an untreated nonferrous metal component and applying a coating by zinc diffusion onto the nonferrous metal component. A zinc dust mixture is diffused at a temperature of from 300 to 600° C. so as to form a zinc diffusion layer.

  • Publication number: 20120137502
Abstract: A press-hardened component and a method for producing press-hardened components, in particular a bodywork component, from a semi-finished product made from unhardened, hot-formable steel sheet. Various process steps are carried out in the process. A component blank is formed from the semi-finished product by a cold-forming process, in particular a drawing process. The component blank is trimmed at the margin side to a margin contour which approximately corresponds to the component to be produced. The trimmed component blank is heated and press-hardened in a hot-forming tool, and then the press-hardened component blank is covered with a corrosion-prevention layer in a coating step.

  • Patent number: 8127449
Abstract: A method for the production of press-hardened components, in particular a vehicle body component, from a semifinished product (2) made of unhardened, hot-workable steel sheet. A component blank (10) is formed from the semifinished product (2), pre-coated with a first coating (33), by a cold-forming method, in particular a drawing method. The component blank (10) is trimmed at the margins to a marginal contour (12?) approximately corresponding to the component (1) to be produced. The trimmed component blank (17) is heated and press-hardened in a hot-forming tool (23); then the press-hardened component blank (18) is covered with a second, anticorrosion coating (34) in a coating step.

  • Patent number: 7998289
Abstract: To produce a metallic shaped part (1), in particular a vehicle body part, from a semifinished product (2) made of an unhardened hot-workable steel sheet, first of all the semifinished product (2) is formed by a cold-forming method, in particular a drawing method, into a part blank (10) (process step II). The part blank (10) is then trimmed at the margins to a marginal contour (12?) approximately corresponding to the part (1) to be produced (process step III). Finally, the trimmed part blank (17) is heated and press-hardened in a hot-forming tool (23) (process step IV). The part (1) produced in the process already has the desired marginal contour (24) after the hot forming, so that the final trimming of the part margin is dispensed with. In this way, the cycle times during the production of hardened parts of steel sheet can be considerably reduced.

  • Publication number: 20070256762
Abstract: A process for producing a shaped part of a pre-form of hardenable and heat formable steel sheet, by means of heat treatment with cold deforming tools, in which by the heat forming a hardened component is produced, which exhibits a martensitic and/or banitic microstructure, wherein the hardened component is tempered subsequent to heat forming so that a shaped part is formed which exhibits, at least in areas, a higher yield strength and a pronounced break limit compared to the hardened component.

  • Patent number: 7137201
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for the production of locally reinforced drawn parts, in which the basic sheet of the structural part, in the flat or only preformed state, is connected in a defined position to the reinforcing sheet and this patched composite sheet structure is subsequently jointly formed. In order to improve the production method in terms of the product and result of the method and to relieve the forming tools during joint forming of the parts, the patched composite sheet structure is heated before forming at least to about 800° C. to 850° C. The composite sheet structure is then introduced quickly in the hot state to be rapidly formed. During forming the composite part is fixed mechanically and is subsequently cooled in a defined manner by contacting with the forming tool positively cooled from inside. Passage through a critical temperature range of 800° C. to 500° C. thus takes place with a defined temperature gradient.

  • Publication number: 20050060869
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the production of a side wall module for the bodywork of a motor vehicle, having a panel which leaves open a side wall part. In this case, a side wall structure, which extends to the rear in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle at least from an A-pillar as far as a rear wheel mounting and comprises an inner part and a wall part integrally reinforcing the side wall module, is joined in the transverse direction of the vehicle to a side wall panel which has previously been deep drawn from a blank and cut, with window openings and at least one door opening being formed. The wall part is fastened on the outside of the inner part of the side wall structure.

  • Publication number: 20030107237
Abstract: A door arrangement for a motor vehicle has a pivotable door and at least one hinge via which the door is articulated on one of its narrow sides on bodywork. Movement of the door between its open and closed positions proceeds, under automatic control, about two axes of rotation running approximately parallel through the hinge. During opening of the door, in a first movement stage, the hinge-side end region of the door is guided in a pivoting/sliding manner out of the door opening and the lock-side end region of the door is guided in a pivoting/sliding manner by guide elements along the door opening into a release position. Thereafter, the axis of rotation moved together with the door is shifted out of the door opening, and the door can be pivoted exclusively about the shifted axis of rotation in a second movement stage.

  • Patent number: 6315353
Abstract: A body segment for a motor vehicle in the area of a side panel has the following characteristics: An open, particularly C-shaped profile part of a constant cross-section which was produced by roll profiling and which extends in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body; and an interior side member mounted on the profile part in the direction of the interior side of the vehicle body. An interior A-column part and an interior B-column part are mounted on the profile part. Furthermore, the vehicle body segment has a side panel covering which is mounted partially over the profile part in the direction of the exterior side of the vehicle body and which has an exterior A-column part, an exterior B-column part and an exterior C-column part. In this case, the profile part is made of a high-strength steel, and its profile has pronounced displacements toward the exterior side of the vehicle body.

  • Patent number: 6196622
Abstract: A rear structure of a unitized motor vehicle body with two side wall sections includes a transverse wall located below a rear window cutout. The transverse wall connects the sidewall sections with one another, and has two cross members spaced apart from one another, between which a flat part extends. The first cross member, adjacent to the rear window cutout, is fitted with zero play between the side wall sections and a bearing is provided for the second cross member on each side. The bearing ensures an adjustability of the second cross member between the side wall sections at least in the transverse direction of the vehicle. The flat part is a trim member connected exclusively with the two cross members.
