  • Publication number: 20100211672
Abstract: A method, system and article of manufacture for simulating latency between software applications. There is provided a middleware component, e.g., a delay driver, within a multi-tier software product, the middleware component driver enables simulation of both latency and bandwidth restrictions experienced by the components in the multi-tier software product. The middleware component determines whether I/O request packets should be delayed, selects the number and types of I/O requests packets to be delayed and the amount of time to delay processing of the packets. Through the use of such a middleware component, a user is able to simulate various conditions experienced by the multi-tier software product.

  • Publication number: 20080198819
Abstract: A system and methods are disclosed for concurrent ad-hoc and infrastructure connectivity for a wireless local area network. The system comprises an infrastructure access point, an ad-hoc personal device, and a wireless terminal device configured to communicate concurrently with the infrastructure access point and the ad-hoc personal device. Furthermore, the system allows selection of a common communication operation mode. • Publication number: 20060038005
Abstract: An automated banking machine can communicate with a host computer to cash financial checks. The machine can read check indicia, send check data to the host, receive authorization from the host to cash the check, and dispense cash corresponding to the check. The machine can also produce image data representative of the check indicia and determine whether the data can be accurately identified within a predetermined level of assurance. The machine can additionally print cancellation data on a cashed check, and then return the check to the machine user.

  • Publication number: 20060027756
Abstract: In a dosimeter for measuring levels of ionizing radiation, for example during radiotherapy, a plurality of radiation sensors, such as insulated gate field effect transistors (IGFETs), are spaced apart at predetermined intervals on a support, for example a flexible printed circuit strip, and connected to a connector which can be coupled to a reader for reading the sensors. The sensors may each be connected to a reference device, which may also be an insulated gate field effect transistor, and the absorbed radiation dose may be determined by measuring, before and after the irradiation, the difference between the threshold voltages of the individual sensors and the threshold voltage reference device. Corresponding terminals of the sensors may be connected to the connector by a single conductor, thereby reducing the number of conductors required.
