  • Patent number: 10348781
Abstract: A method and apparatus for enabling registration of an Aggregate End Point (AEP) device that is incapable of supporting a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) based Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) registration are disclosed. The method performs a static registration of the AEP device in a plurality of network elements associated with an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network by provisioning. The method then processes an originating call request or a terminating call request associated with the AEP device using the static registration.

  • Publication number: 20140029439
Abstract: A network monitoring and configuration device may be configured in a network to receive condition data from devices across the network in order to perform network-wide reconfiguration to improve the service provided by the network. By analyzing data received from across the network regarding device utilization, link utilization, and other conditions, the network monitoring and configuration device may determine whether and how to redirect traffic, adjust delivery requirements, and re-provision network resources to improve service or avoid future service degradation. The network monitoring and configuration device may also receive data from external sources, such as emergency services providers, and use such data to further determine whether and how to configure the network.

  • Patent number: 8072970
Abstract: A method is provided for forming a multi-media communication path between at least first, second and third communication devices coupled to a multi-media provider system during post answer call redirecting and/or teleconferencing. The method includes receiving and processing a first call request at a circuit-based portion of the multi-media provider system for forming a first communication link between the first and second communication devices. Thereafter, predetermined attributes of the first communication link may be sent to an IP-based portion of the multi-media provider system for configuring the IP-based portion of the multi-media provider system to process a subsequent request to execute post answer call redirecting and/or teleconferencing.

  • Publication number: 20110161519
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for providing a transit service in a communications network are disclosed. For example, the method receives a session request by a routing device, where the session request is directed towards a user endpoint device that accesses one or more services via the aggregate endpoint device, and interrogates a Home Subscriber Server (HSS) for domain information of the aggregate endpoint device. The method determines if the domain information of the aggregate endpoint device is associated with a transit function, and routes the session request to the transit function for completion, if the domain information of the aggregate endpoint device is associated with the transit function.

  • Patent number: 6205557
Abstract: A telecommunications network includes at least an active and a standby call server, the standby call server becoming active upon failure of the active call server. To facilitate rapid switch-over from the active to the standby call server and to prevent the loss of call processing data for calls in the call setup stage, the active call server sends call information to the standby call server during intervals in which the active call server is awaiting subsequent signaling messages from elements of the telecommunications network. In this way, the standby call server has the call information needed to commence call processing upon failure of the active call server, and the active call server makes efficient use of time while awaiting a reply signaling message.
