  • Publication number: 20150098554
Abstract: A method is provided for processing emergency service calls from a user device to a PSAP, the user device having an associated line number and being configured to originate calls from fixed and mobile access networks. The method includes determining whether a call from the user device originates from a home location in a fixed access network. When the call is determined to have originated from the home location in the fixed access network, the call is routed to the PSAP, where a location of the user device is determined based on the Automatic Number Identification (ANI) included in signaling associated with the call. When the call is determined not to have originated from the home location in the fixed access network, adding pseudo-ANI to signaling associated with the call and routing the call to the PSAP, where the location of the user device is determined based on the pANI.

  • Patent number: 8019339
Abstract: A system and method to arbitrate between SUP and CoPL LCS technology in a mized access network environment. The method includes signaling the serving network to obtain information prior to selecting a location determination session. The information is then indexed to a database to determine the location determination session desired.

  • Patent number: 8000702
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed that determines the position of a mobile device using information obtained by employing a first location determination protocol (or modality) to control the efficient or advantageous invocation of a second location determination protocol (or modality). The system utilizes information readily available from the Control plane along with request parameters and device capabilities to determine whether to invoke a CoPL or SUPL session.

  • Patent number: 8000701
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed that correlates the MSISDN of a target mobile by performing an out of band request using a IMSI. The correlation between the MSISDN and the IMSI of IMEI is cashed at a database for retrieval. The correlation of the MSISDN allows the position of a mobile device to be determined using a CoPL and/or SUPL location determination sessions.

  • Publication number: 20110173230
Abstract: A method of providing a location of a target device to an application implementing location based services includes receiving a request for a location resource from the target device at a first location server and generating the location resource in response to the request, where an external domain to which the location resource is attributed corresponds to a second location server different from the first location server. The location resource is provided to the target device, the target device providing the location resource to the application, which subsequently requests the location of the target device from the second location server using the location resource. A query is received from the second location server requesting the location of the target device, the query including the location resource. The target device is identified using the location resource.
