  • Publication number: 20100162645
Abstract: A walkway system comprising a plurality of support assemblies, each having a pair of spaced apart beam support plates on an upper side thereof, and a plurality of pairs of beams. Each pair of beams is supported by pairs of spaced apart beam support plates of at least two support assemblies. A plurality of cross members extend between lower portions of the pairs of beams. The cross members are configured to support one or more cables resting thereupon. A plurality of decking members extend between the pairs of beams. The decking members are secured to upper sides of the beams. The cross members, beams and decking members cooperate to form a partial enclosure for the cables, thereby eliminating the need for a separate cable tray.

  • Publication number: 20090006936
Abstract: Embodiments are provided to enable a collaborative authoring of a document or other data structure. In an embodiment, a system includes a number of components configured to structure a collaborative authoring process. The components of the system can be used to define a number of sections, roles, and other collaboration parameters associated with a collaboration effort. A workspace can be provisioned to allow participants to interact with the document based in part on a number of permissions. Components of the system can be used to communicate a customized document to the participants based in part on an associated role and other collaboration parameters. Other embodiments and collaborative functionality are available.

  • Patent number: 7427386
Abstract: The invention provides a series of techniques for processing uranium containing feed materials such as uranium ores, reprocessed uranium, uranium containing residues and uranium containing spent fuel. The processes described involve fluorination of uranium containing material, separation of the uranium containing material from other materials based on ionization thereof with the non-ionized fluorine containing material being recycled. Metallic uranium and/or plutonium and/or fission products may result. The technique offers advantages in terms of the range of materials which can be reprocessed and a reduction in the number of complexity of stages which are involved in the process.

  • Patent number: 5760508
Abstract: An energy conversion and storage device (1) which comprises a magnetic rotor (5) and a stator (7) comprising one or more electric coils whereby electrical energy may be applied to and extracted from the device (1) when the rotor (5) is rotating relative to the stator (7) and means (13, 14, 15, 17) for electromagnetically suspending the rotor (5) whilst rotating relative to the stator (7), wherein the rotor (5) comprises a tubular body portion formed of a composite of fiber reinforced material and magnetic material emnbedded within the fiber reinforced material and the stator (7) is disposed inside the rotor (5) co-axially with the rotor (5) and extends along at least a major part of the length of the said body portion of the rotor (5).

  • Patent number: 5717263
Abstract: A rotor (10) comprising a cylindrical structure (30, 31) including a portion made from a fibre reinforced composite (38, 39) wherein magnetic filler within the matrix (44) of the composite and wherein the loading of the magnetic filler material varies through the matrix whereby the average mass per unit volume of the structure (10) decreases with distance radially from the axis of the structure (10). As a result, strain matching across the rotor can be achieved even when the rotor is spinning at high speed, such as when used in a flywheel energy storage and conversion apparatus.
