  • Patent number: 10989394
Abstract: An OLED lighting module comprising a support (2); an OLED lighting panel (3) with an emissive side with emissive and non-emissive areas (38) and an opposite side which comprises an OLED substrate (31), an OLED light-generating unit and a circuit board (34); an opaque liner with a first section (41) that covers at least part of the non-emitting areas (38) over the OLED substrate and a second section (42) that extend past the edges of the OLED substrate on the emissive side of the OLED panel; and an opaque bezel (6) in contact with the support (20), the opaque bezel (6) covering at least part of the second section (42) of the opaque liner but not the first section (41) of the opaque liner. By covering only that portion of an opaque liner that extends past the edges of the OLED substrate with a bezel and not the OLED substrate itself, the module can be made thin.

  • Patent number: 8212760
Abstract: A liquid crystal display (LCD) with a driver IC and an LCD panel having source and gate lines. A gate driver is disposed in the LCD panel for sequentially supplying scan signals to the gate lines of the panel. A source driver in the driver IC converts pixel data into an analog source signal and supplies the signal to the source lines. A lookup table is stored with a mapping of possible luminance values for pixels of the LCD panel onto at least one luminance control parameter. The source driver converts the pixel data so that a voltage of the analog source signal increases during a gate scan period depending on the luminance control parameter in such a way that at the end of the gate scan period a voltage at a corresponding pixel electrode is equal to an analog value corresponding to the pixel data.

  • Publication number: 20100060819
Abstract: The invention relates to liquid crystal display comprising image forming layers, at least one indirect light source and a light guide. The light guide comprises a first side facing the image forming layers, a second side opposite of the first side, and an in-coupling side facing the at least one indirect light source. The in-coupling side is a beveled in-coupling side.
