  • Patent number: 9873427
Abstract: A motor vehicle comprising at least one driver assistance system (2) to pre-calculate future driving situations of the motor vehicle (1) for a specified time interval by evaluating ego data related to the motor vehicle (1) and environmental data related to the motor vehicle environment, wherein the motor vehicle (1) is controllable by a driver in a first operating mode of the driver assistance system (2), wherein the driver assistance system (2) is designed, upon fulfillment of one switchover condition dependent at least upon future driving situations, to be temporarily switched over into a second operating mode in which the motor vehicle (1) is autonomously controlled by the driver assistance system (2) without the possibility of intervention by the driver, wherein driving is continued in the second operating mode.

  • Patent number: 6309013
Abstract: A motor vehicle roof with a cover (14) which has a closed position in which it closes a roof opening (12) in a fixed roof skin (10), and which can be raised for ventilation purposes, and with an adjustable headliner part (16, 116) which can be both moved from a closed position in which it blocks viewing of the cover from the motor vehicle interior (18) and an open position in which it exposes the roof opening or the cover. The headliner can also be raised with the cover to increase the ventilation function. A coupling mechanism is provided for coupling the headliner to the cover for entraining the headliner to rise with the cover but is disengageable for uncoupling of the headliner part from the cover for enabling longitudinal movement of the headliner relative to the cover into said at least one pushed-back position. Engagement and disengagement the coupling mechanism can be position dependent or can be manually actuated.

  • Patent number: 6030024
Abstract: A door arrangement for opening and closing a motor vehicle door in a door opening (2) in an outside vehicle wall (1), having at least one door panel (3) which, in the closed position, assumes a position that is essentially flush position with the outside wall (1) and which can be swung into an open position which at least partially exposes the door opening, and in which the door panel (3), outside of the vehicle, assumes a roughly parallel position to outside wall (1). The door panel (3) is connected to the vehicle to swing via at least one pivoting lever (5). To enhance the sealing action in the closed position, it is provided that a forward edge (31) of the door panel (3), by way of a linkage mechanism (7, 8, 9) executes a movement by which this edge (31) fits from inside behind the associated edge (door frame 4B) of outside wall (1) or a seal (10) located thereon, in the closed position.

  • Patent number: 5775769
Abstract: A motor vehicle roof with a cover (3) which can be activated by means of cover mechanism (6) and which selectively closes an opening (2) in a fixed roof surface (1) or at least partially exposes the opening (2) by being raised at its rear edge, achieves increased safety against the cover being forced out to the top and enables the vehicle roof to be configured so as to eliminate height adjustment, by the cover (3) resting in the closed state with both its front edge (4) and its rear edge (5) underlying the fixed roof surface (1). Advantageously, a pretensioning force is exerted by the cover (3) on the fixed roof (1), so that one of these two parts impresses its outline on the other.

  • Patent number: 5769483
Abstract: A convertible vehicle roof with a rigid rear roof part (7) and with a rigid rear part (8) which adjoins rear roof part (7), can be moved together with other roof parts (side roof parts 5, cover 6) into a stowage space (19) located in the rear of a vehicle. Compared to known hardtop vehicle roofs, the structure, mounting, sealing and insensitivity to tolerances are improved by the fact that the rear part (8) can be swung forwardly over the rear roof part (7) before they are moved together into the stowage space.

  • Patent number: 5749617
Abstract: A motor vehicle roof which can be opened by a motor through various interim stages by operation of a rotary switch about which graphic symbols are arranged which indicate the respective opening stages. The control is suited for triggering complex, openable motor vehicle roofs with several roof components which can be activated partially independently of one another and which can be activated by separate motors, the switch, as it turns in different peripheral areas, triggering individual or multiple motors in succession or at the same time for starting predetermined opening stages.

  • Patent number: 5558388
Abstract: The invention relates to a vehicle roof with at least one roof cover part that can be opened during driving. This roof part can be moved into at least one open position in the manner of a conventional sliding-lifting roof on roof parts lying laterally to it or on guideways arranged on it in lengthwise direction of the vehicle. Furthermore, after complete opening of the roof part that can be opened, the roof as a whole is able to be placed in a lengthwise compacted configuration and then lowered into a stowage space behind the passenger compartment, whereby the vehicle becomes a fully open convertible-type vehicle without substantially consuming the usually available trunk space. In one set of embodiments, the compacted roof configuration is stored in a vertical orientation.

  • Patent number: 5542735
Abstract: A vehicle roof with at least one roof cover part that can be opened during driving in the manner of a sunroof by being moved into at least one open position on guideways arranged in roof parts lying laterally to it in the lengthwise direction of the vehicle. A rear roof part that is stationary, at least during this sunroof mode of operation, is fixed with the lateral roof parts and can be moved with them and the cover part into a storage space in the rear part of the vehicle to expose a convertible-type roof opening. Supporting B-columns are movable in the lengthwise direction of the vehicle, and the rear roof part is mounted to them in a pivotable manner. By pivoting the rear roof part and subsequent pivoting of the B-columns, only a very small storage space is required between the seats and the rear axle for stowage of the roof.
