Patent number: 12258831Abstract: A fluid-driven multi-mode extended reach vibration tool is selectively operable to control generating shock waves of different amplitudes by a downhole motor or shock-wave generating tool. Interrupting and then reinstating flow of pressurized fluid through the tool enables switching between different shock wave amplitudes, as such causes rotation of a slot piston to successive positions and enables it to unblock designated fluid ejection paths, while blocking others. Blocking different flow paths and unblocking others allows generating different internal pressures and shock wave amplitudes under the externally-applied fluid pressure downhole. There is also an “off” mode with no vibration, while maintaining well control and fluid pressure at the BHA.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 2024Date of Patent: March 25, 2025Assignee: PROSHALE LLCInventors: Martin Mauro Nebiolo, Christian Brendstrup, Christian Cerne, Gustavo Dietrich

Patent number: 12252944Abstract: Disclosed is a fluid-driven dual-mode circulation tool which is suitable for high-temperature applications, and which is operable to switch between a flow-through mode and an annular-flow mode. Switching modes is accomplished by interrupting (or reducing) and then reinstating the flow of pressurized fluid through it. In the flow-through mode, pressurized fluid flows out of the tool into the bottom hole assembly. In the annular-flow mode, the tool diverts fluid through internal paths that access the annulus of the wellbore or casing through one or more apertures on the sidewall of the tool.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 2024Date of Patent: March 18, 2025Assignee: PROSHALE LLCInventors: Martin Mauro Nebiolo, Cristian Brendstrup, Christian Cerne, Gustavo Dietrich

Patent number: 12246411Abstract: A fluid-driven dual-mode abrasive perforation tool which is selectively operable to switch between abrasive and neutral mode is disclosed. In the abrasive mode, jets of abrasive fluid are delivered on to perforate the target site. A ratchet path having mated peaks and valleys on the surface of a J-slot piston included in the tool is engaged with guiding pins. On longitudinal sliding of the piston due to guided inflow and interruption pressurized abrasive fluid through the tool, the guiding pins cause rotation of the piston. Rotation of the piston alternately aligns a pair of flow channels included in the piston with flow paths for ejecting jets of pressurized abrasive fluid and flow paths for non-abrasive ejection of pressurized fluid. When the pair of flow channels of the piston get aligned with flow paths for ejecting jets of pressurized abrasive fluid, the tool is operated in the abrasive mode.Type: GrantFiled: August 12, 2024Date of Patent: March 11, 2025Assignee: Proshale LLCInventors: Martin Mauro Nebiolo, Cristian Brendstrup, Christian Cerne, Gustavo Dietrich

Patent number: 11585430Abstract: A method for operating a motor vehicle that has an internal combustion engine and an automated manual transmission, connected between the engine and a drive output. The transmission includes a shifting element group with a plurality of shifting elements. The transmission further includes an oil pump and an electric machine, both of which are integrated in the transmission and coupled to an input shaft of the transmission. The oil pump delivers a flow of transmission oil for cooling the shifting element group and cooling the electric machine, and the shifting elements of the shifting element group are controlled and shifted by an actuator system that is independent of the oil pump. When the motor vehicle is at rest, the oil pump is driven by the electric machine in order to cool the electric machine while the motor vehicle is at rest.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 2020Date of Patent: February 21, 2023Assignee: ZF FRIEDRICHSHAFEN AGInventors: Michael Sauter, Markus Eisele, Martin Dietrich, Franz Bitzer

Patent number: 11390267Abstract: A method for operating a motor vehicle having an engine and an electric machine, a transmission, a battery, and an exhaust treatment system having a particulate filter. The battery discharges during a charge-depleting mode of the electrical machine and charges when the electrical machine operates as a generator such that the battery charge state moves between lower and upper limits. If a filter regeneration requirement is detected, the filter is regenerated by raising the temperature of the exhaust gas. When the need for filter regeneration is detected, the battery is discharged to below the lower limit, in the charge-depleting mode of the electrical machine, prior to the regeneration. Subsequently, to regenerate the filter, the engine is operated to raise the exhaust gas temperature by increasing the torque provided by the engine, and the electric machine operates as a generator to charge the battery and/or operate an auxiliary electrical load.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 2020Date of Patent: July 19, 2022Assignee: ZF Friedrichshafen AGInventors: Michael Sauter, Markus Eisele, Martin Dietrich, Michael Walser
