  • Patent number: 10094345
Abstract: A fuel consumption-measuring system includes a feed line, a first pump which pumps fuel from a tank via the feed line to a consumer, a fuel consumption-measuring device in the feed line, a first return line which branches off at the consumer and opens into the feed line between the fuel consumption-measuring device and the consumer, a second return line which branches off from the feed line between the first pump and the fuel consumption-measuring device which opens into the tank, a branch which leads from the feed line into the second return line, a heat exchanger, and a flow device arranged in the first and second return lines. The flow device provides an equal volume flow at an opening of the first return line into the feed line and at the branch leading from the feed line into the second return line.

  • Patent number: 10094378
Abstract: A system for measuring temporally resolved through-flow processes of a fluid. The system includes an inlet, a main line comprising a line section, an outlet fluidically connected with the inlet via the main line, a displacement device arranged in the main line, a circuitous line which branches off the main line between the inlet and the displacement device and to enter the main line between the displacement device and the outlet, a pressure difference transducer arranged in the circuitous line, an evaluation and control unit which controls the displacement device, and a bypass line comprising a pump and a sensor. The bypass line branches off from the main line or from the circuitous line and ends at a same side of the displacement device and the pressure difference transducer to bypass the line section or the circuitous line from which the bypass line branches off.

  • Patent number: 6340085
Abstract: A roller drive unit is provided for an air freight system in an aircraft and comprises a drive roller that can be retracted and raised in order to transport freight containers in various directions. Unlike conventional roller drive units of this type which are only capable of conveying freight containers in forward or backward directions, the roller drive unit of the present invention is adapted to convey freight containers in any desired direction. To this end the roller drive unit comprises a substantially annular fixing device for attachment of the roller drive unit to the floor of a cargo hold and, in a preferably flush relationship thereto, a carrier device for the drive roller. The carrier device can be rotated about an axis perpendicular to the floor of the cargo hold, i.e. about at vertical axis, relative to the fixing device to enable the freight container to be transported in a desired direction.

  • Patent number: 6254033
Abstract: A roller drive unit for use in the transportation of freight containers in the hold of an aircraft. The unit comprises a drive roller, which can be retracted and which can be raised into an operating position by an electric motor, for engagement with a freight container to be transported. Sensors are distributed in a ring around the drive roller so as to be able to monitor the direction of movement of a freight container approaching the roller drive unit. A controller is connected to the sensors and to the electric motor in order that the drive roller can be raised out of its lower, retracted position into an upper, operating position or conversely, according to the signals received by the controller means from the sensors.
