  • Patent number: 8963446
Abstract: A lighting apparatus having at least one set of light sources, a microprocessor, and an orientation sensor. The microprocessor and the orientation sensor are capable of maintaining the light source in a desired orientation. The lighting apparatus and devices having a lighting apparatus are capable of controlling the plurality of light sources to maintain the desired orientation of the lighting. The lighting apparatus may be connected to a device, such as a piece of wheeled luggage, stroller or hat, such that when the luggage is tilted the light source maintains an desired orientation relative to a fixed orientation, such as a horizontal orientation.

  • Patent number: 8960940
Abstract: A lighting apparatus having a light source and a leveling mechanism capable of maintaining the light source in a desired orientation is described. The lighting apparatus may have a pivot mechanism about which the light source is capable of rotating such that the lighting apparatus maintains the desired orientation. In specific embodiments, the lighting apparatus comprises a directional light source, a pivot mechanism, a connector capable of connecting the pivot to another object, and a mechanism that allows the light source to rotate about the pivot to maintain a desired orientation. The lighting apparatus may be connected to an object, such as a piece of wheeled luggage, such that when the luggage is tilted the light source maintains an desired orientation such as a horizontal orientation.

  • Publication number: 20040040127
Abstract: Existing hand held Quick-Grip® bar clamps that are sold on the market have a limitation in the distance away from the clamp bar that two objects can be clamped. This limitation is the distance that the Quick-Grip® bar clamp heads are located from the front of the clamp bar. This invention is designed to slide over the heads of these existing clamps and extend the distance that two objects can be clamped together away from the Quick-Grip® clamp bar. This is new in that the original function of the Quick-Grip® bar clamp remains the same with the extension arms in place or with the extension arms removed. These extension arms are easily installed by hand and removed by hand. The clamp extension arms can be used in a reverse position to be used when the Quick-Grip® bar clamp is in the spreader position.
