  • Patent number: 11095134
Abstract: A modular battery storage system includes energy storage modules. A switch is assigned to individual energy storage modules, by which the respective energy storage module can be activated and deactivated. The energy storage modules can connect to one another by the switches such that the individual voltages of activated energy storage modules can be added up to form a total voltage. A method of operating the battery storage system ascertains at least one power value for each of the energy storage modules, the power value being characteristic of the power capacity of the energy storage module. A total voltage is generated by at least two energy storage modules being activated with a time overlap but over activation periods of different length. One of the activation periods of different length is assigned to each of the at least two energy storage modules depending on the ascertained at least one power value.

  • Publication number: 20180313290
Abstract: A method for ascertaining a gas concentration in a measuring gas with the aid of a gas sensor. In a first operating mode of an internal combustion engine, in which the gas concentration in the measuring gas is known, a plurality of value pairs of a respective gas concentration signal and a pressure signal are detected. Proceeding from these value pairs, a compensation parameter and a scaling factor of the gas sensor are ascertained. Subsequently, in a second operating mode of the internal combustion engine, the ascertainment of a gas concentration to be determined takes place, based on a gas concentration signal measured in the second operating mode of the internal combustion engine, and taking the compensation parameter and the scaling factor of the gas sensor into consideration.

  • Patent number: 7548724
Abstract: The present invention is a method and apparatus that allows a menu 20 of song titles 22 to be displayed on printed pages 24, rather than on small song cards, that are held by page frames 30 that are hingedly joined to a juke box unit. The printed pages can be changed by positioning a page frame under a hatch, which is an opening 50 that preferably includes a lid 52, and slipping different pages in an out through a thin slot 32 on the top of a page frame. The front of the juke box housing 10 has a hollow 58 that a user can fit their fingers into to manipulate flipping handles 56 that are fixed to the page frames such that the user can turn and position the printed pages for either changing out the printed pages or for browsing the menu of song titles.

  • Patent number: 7460443
Abstract: The present invention is a folder indexing method that defines a format for storage and playback of digital audio files to support a specialized song selection access method. Access codes used to select media files for playback of music in a digital audio player, such as a juke box, are entered using track selection keys bearing the characters associated with the various access codes. At the software level, the track selection keys are assigned index values. Index values are used to locate a selected individual folder, but each individual folder uniquely stores only one media file. Preferably, folder names are only used for the purpose of alpha sorting folders so that index values can be used to count to a selected folder rather than searching for a term in a folder name. Multiple folder levels can be located using this method, but only the last folder level contains media files.

  • Patent number: 5850304
Abstract: A programmable controller includes a photodetector for receiving data as pulses light from a video display and infra-red emitting diodes for transmitting pulses of light in a format recognized by the device to be controlled. The light from the video display is produced by generating a series of vertically displaced, horizontal lines on the screen of the display. Each line corresponds to a pulse of light and to one bit of information and one or more bytes are displayed per frame on the display. The display produces two initial lines that define a timing window for receiving the remaining data and produces a terminal line that toggles for error detection. The controller produces pulses in the format required by the controlled device by executing a sub-set of primitives from a set stored in the controller. The primitives are executed in a sequence determined by the data from the video display.
