Publication number: 20260205467Abstract: A system and method for verifying the authenticity of video content includes a transmitter device with video capture capabilities designed to record video data of a scene. It also features an artificial lighting device arranged to illuminate at least part of the scene during at least some of the capture process. Additionally, it includes an authentication platform configured to control the artificial lighting device to introduce controlled, variable lighting changes into the scene following predetermined instructions during at least part of the video capture. This aims to create at least one expected artifact in the captured video data. The system receives the captured video data from the video capture device and analyzes it to identify resulting artifacts. It then compares the detected artifacts with the expected artifacts based on the instructions, and determines that the video content is authentic when there is a match between the detected and expected artifacts.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 7, 2025Publication date: July 16, 2026Inventors: Martin EURLINGS, Sebastiaan VAN DYCK
