  • Publication number: 20200113092
Abstract: A shield can assembly is described. In one or more implementations, a frame is installed on a printed circuit board (PCB) by using a cross-bar connected to opposing sides of the frame to place the frame on the PCB. Subsequent to installation of the frame on the PCB, the cross-bar is removed from the frame. Once the cross-bar is removed, one or more flexible printed circuits (FPCs) are installed on the PCB. • Patent number: 10322353
Abstract: Present embodiments are directed toward a dynamic control system for an amusement park ride. The system includes a game server that generates game data describing movement of a virtual vehicle through a virtual environment; a programmable logic controller (PLC) configured to conditionally execute instructions of a dynamic ride profile relative to one or more stored limits to operate physical actions of the ride vehicle; and a dynamic ride profile server communicatively coupled to the game server and the PLC. The dynamic ride profile server is configured to: receive input data, sensor data, and the game data; provide the received data as inputs to one or more physical models to generate a portion of a dynamic ride profile based on the movement of the virtual vehicle through the virtual environment; and provide the portion of the dynamic ride profile to the PLC for conditional execution.

  • Patent number: 10317983
Abstract: Accessory device power management techniques are described in which a power exchange state for a system including a host computing device, an accessory device, and an adapter is recognized. Power exchange states may be defined according to relative states of charge (RSOC) and connection status for the system components and mapped to power management control actions. Responsive to the recognition of a current power exchange state, corresponding power management control actions may be ascertained and applied to jointly manage power for the system. For instance, the host device may draw supplemental power from a power source associated with an accessory device (e.g., a battery or power adapter) or supply power for use by the accessory device according to different states. Power exchanges may also be managed in accordance with capabilities of the accessory device identified based on authentication of the accessory device.

  • Publication number: 20180136705
Abstract: Power management contracts for accessory devices are described. In one or more implementations, a power management contract is established for a system including a host computing device and an accessory device based at least in part upon power exchange conditions observed for the system. The power management contracts define operating constraints for power exchange between components of the system, including at least a power exchange direction and current limits. The host computing device and accessory devices are each configured to renegotiate the power management contract to dynamically change operating constraints in “real-time.” Additionally, different power management contracts may be associated with identifying data corresponding to different types of accessory devices.

  • Patent number: 9599096
Abstract: A wind turbine power plant comprises a plurality of wind turbines, each having a rated output and under the control of a power plant controller. The power plant also has a rated output which may be over-rated in response to one or more electricity pricing data, power plant age and operator demand. This may comprise a schedule of output set point changes which effect seasonal or intraday changes in electricity prices or which reflect aging of the power plant. It may also reflect the price of electricity on spot or futures markets. Once the over-rating of the power plant has been set, the output may be increased by over-rating individual turbines or operating turbines at rated power if the sum of the rated outputs of the turbines exceeds or is equal to the new power plant output set point.
