Patent number: 6565303Abstract: The present invention is a washer typically used in fastening insulation to a roof deck. The washer is secured to the deck by a securing member received through an opening in the washer. The washer is provided with a body having a top surface, a thickness dimension, and bottom surface having a substantially planar region. The body is further provided with an opening sized to permit a securing member to pass therethrough. A plurality of fingers are positioned around the opening on the bottom surface of the body. The fingers extend away from the bottom surface, the fingers being positioned around the opening and having at least a portion that extends over the opening. In yet another embodiment, the present invention is, in combination, a washer and a securing member received in an opening provided in the washer.Type: GrantFiled: July 16, 2001Date of Patent: May 20, 2003Assignee: Olympic Manufacturing Group, Inc.Inventors: Martin G. Riccitelli, Tad A. Weiss, Stanley W. Choiniere

Patent number: 6491025Abstract: A nozzle injection apparatus for use in internal combustion engines includes a fuel pump for intermittently pressurizing fuel and an injection conduit in fluid communication with the fuel pump, the injection conduit permitting the pressurized fuel to be communicated to a fuel injection nozzle. A high pressure manifold in fluid communication with the fuel pump and the nozzle is also provided to accumulate the pressurized fuel which is residually left in the injection conduit between intermittent pressurizations of the fuel. The apparatus has low opening and closing pressures when starting the engine while ensuing high opening and closing pressures during operation of the engine. Further, the apparatus maintains high residual pressure in the injection conduit which provides higher than normal pressure to the nozzle at the end of a fuel delivery cycle to subsequently reduce exhausted pollutants.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2000Date of Patent: December 10, 2002Assignee: Governors America Corp.Inventors: William R. Ferry, James R. Voss, Martin G. Riccitelli

Patent number: 5816926Abstract: A compact double Cardan motion universal joint has a substantially cylindrical housing having an input end and an output end, with an input shaft and ball joint and an output shaft and interengaging ball joint, respectively; each ball joint consisting of a substantially spherical ball on the shaft member, a ball seat torsionally fixed in the housing, and pivots for providing articulation of the ball shaft about two orthogonal axes. Interengagement between the ball joints is provided by an interconnection ball joint consisting of a hollow socket on a joining end of one of the spherical ball shaft members of said universal joint, and a spherical ball on a joining end of the other spherical ball shaft member, the interconnection ball joint providing universal pivoting and translating motion at a juncture between interengaging portions of the ball shaft members.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 1997Date of Patent: October 6, 1998Assignee: The Torrington CompanyInventors: Jack Lynch, Martin G. Patent number: 5803693Abstract: A swiveling roofing washer for use with a roofing fastener has a plate. The plate defines a centrally positioned fastener opening. The plate further has a bottom surface for engagement to a roofing membrane, and an oppositely positioned top surface. The top surface has a swivel surface portion defining a convex surface adjacent and coaxial with the fastener opening. The swivel surface further defines a fastener head receiving channel adjacent the convex portion and coaxial with the fastener opening for engagement with the head portion of a roofing fastener.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 1997Date of Patent: September 8, 1998Assignee: Olympic Manufacturing Group, Inc.Inventors: Stanley W. Patent number: 5580184Abstract: A clamp yoke having an angular adjustable insert. The angular adjustable insert has a profiled bore which is complementary to the profile of a shaft. The adjustability of the insert allows the insert to be rotated slightly during installation to account for tolerances in both the clamp yoke and the device the clamp yoke is being installed into. Preferably, the insert is axially restrained within the clamp yoke to prevent the insert from falling out of the clamp yoke prior to installation.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 1995Date of Patent: December 3, 1996Assignee: The Torrington CompanyInventor: Martin G. Riccitelli

Patent number: 5525110Abstract: A double cardan universal joint having a pair of annular ring yokes pivotally connected by a tubular coupling yoke. Specific examples are provided of using the double cardan universal joint as a non-constant velocity joint in a three universal joint steering system whereby a the three universal joint system operates at constant velocity.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 1993Date of Patent: June 11, 1996Assignee: The Torrington CompanyInventors: Martin G. Riccitelli, Frederick W. Mitchell, III, William E. Korzan, David E. Boyden
