  • Publication number: 20100011671
Abstract: The invention relates to a sealing profile (27) which is used as a seal on the window (4) of a vehicle door and which consists of a fastening section (28) to be put onto a ridge (13) and a sealing section (30) designed to rest against the window (4) when the latter is closed. The sealing section (30) is characterized by at least one sealing lip (32) onto the free end of which a section (32?) is molded which is bent in the direction of the fastening section (28). Said bent section is deflected in the direction of the lower side (31?) of an additional sealing lip (31) when the window (4) is closed and defines therewith a closed space (33) that is open in the open state of the window (4). The space (33) formed by the sealing lip (31) being rolled up results in favorable damping properties and reduced closing forces as compared to a classical hollow profile, owing to an increased supporting effect on ventilation.

  • Patent number: 6942225
Abstract: A seal to seal a gap between two cooperating components is disclosed. The seal includes a grip rail attachable to the first component. The grip rail has opposite edge portions to which multiple latching regions are attached. A base having opposite sides is positioned adjacent to the grip rail. Multiple counter latching regions that engage with the latching regions are positioned along one side of the base. A sealing profile adapted to engage the second component is mounted on the other side of the base. A first sealing lip is formed along one counter latching region, and a second sealing lip is formed on the sealing profile. Both sealing lips project outwardly for engagement with the first component.

  • Publication number: 20040094906
Abstract: The sealing arrangement (1) is to seal a gap (2) between two cooperating components (3, 4). A grip rail (7), to which a holding region (19) of a profile (18) is positively latched, is fixed to a first one (3) of the components (3, 4) by way of clips (6). A sealing region (20) of the profile (18) which cooperates in a sealing manner with a second one (4) of the components (3, 4) is attached to the holding region (19). The grip rail (7) consists of synthetic material and comprises at least two latching regions (21, 23) which are disposed transversely with respect to a longitudinal extension of the profile (18) at a mutual spaced interval. A complementary counter latching region (24 to 26) of the holding region (19) is latched to each latching region, wherein a first (21) and a second latching region (22) are provided on longitudinal edges of the grip rail (7).

  • Patent number: 6439641
Abstract: The profiled seal which is provided to produce a sealing arrangement between a vertically sliding window pane and a roof frame of a cabriolet comprises a metal carrier rail and a length of profiled elastomer co-extruded with the carrier rail. The profiled seal has a three-dimensional shape and can be attached to connection parts of the roof frame by attachment elements. At least two assembly regions of the carrier rail which protrude out of the length of profiled elastomer transversely to the longitudinal direction and cooperate with the attachment elements are provided disposed in the longitudinal direction of the profiled seal at a mutually spaced disposition.

  • Patent number: 6435597
Abstract: A profiled seal for sealing between a vertically sliding window pane and a roof frame of a convertible automobile comprises a length of profiled elastomer which is co- extruded with a metal reinforcement. The profiled seal has a three-dimensional shape and can be fixed to connection parts of the roof frame. A holding section having a U-shaped cross-section is part of the length of profiled elastomer and contains the embedded reinforcement which is likewise U-shaped in cross-section. A sealing section is formed laterally as one on a first limb of the holding section which can be placed in a self-clamping and sealing manner on an attachment flange. A foot formed as one on the first limb comprises on a first longitudinal edge adjacent to a free longitudinal edge of the first limb a longitudinal groove into which a dimensionally stable edge flange of a roof of the convertible engages.
