  • Patent number: 7930553
Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to the field of communications systems, and more particularly, to a system and method for extending secure authentication using unique session keys derived from entropy generated by authentication method. In one example, a method for utilizing a public wireless local area network for a client with a smart card includes: creating an one-time password for a client upon a successful authentication; storing the password and identification information of the client; and utilizing the password and the client identity information to authenticate the client in the public wireless local area network.

  • Publication number: 20050197155
Abstract: An apparatus and system for providing wireless access to packet data networks and value-added services is disclosed. The wireless access integrated node (WAIN) offers a simplified internal architecture which eliminates unnecessary intermediate protocols contained in a multi-node hierarchical network architecture while still supporting the main functions of standard mobile networks and preserving standard external interfaces. The WAIN is essentially an integrated network element that provides local radio coverage and complements the capability of the public wireless network. The WAIN can automatically configure itself to minimize interference and achieve optimal performance.

  • Patent number: 6795701
Abstract: A system for transmitting wireless messages from a Wireless Access Internet Network architecture for providing users a plurality of wireless protocols to access a communications network. The architecture comprises a wireless client for providing an authentication message. The wireless client includes a radio link adaptation layer and a radio interface, and the radio link adaptation layer adapts to a plurality of wireless protocols. The architecture further includes a wireless server in communication with the wireless client. The wireless server includes a charging module, a Home Location Register (HLR) signaling module, a Domain Naming System (DNS)/Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) Remote Authentication Dial-in User Service (RADIUS) module, a radio link adaptation layer, and a radio access point in communication with the radio interface. Additionally, the architecture includes a data network in communication with the wireless server.

  • Patent number: 5444415
Abstract: In the modulation and demodulation of a plurality of frequency separated channels on a radio frequency carrier by digitally coded speech or data, the speech or data is modulated on a digitally generated sub-carrier by quadrature phase shift keying and after conversion to analogue form the modulated sub-carrier is mixed with an RF carrier of fixed frequency to produce the signal for transmission. Reception and demodulation of the transmitted signal are effected by the reverse processes. Frequency multiplication is effected after the digital to analogue conversion by producing analogue samples of very short duration and applying them to a suitable filter. Frequency division during the analogue to digital conversion is effected by sub-sampling.

  • Patent number: 5247704
Abstract: A cordless telephone handset includes a burst mode transmitter/receiver unit comprising a radio (10) and a current sink (20) shunted across the radio. A controller (18) controls the current sink (20) in a feedback manner such that the sum of the currents drawn by the radio and the current sink is substantially constant, in order to compensate for fluctuations in the current drawn by the radio alone, so as to avoid interference at the burst rate when the handset is used in conjunction with a hearing aid.
