  • Patent number: 11742794
Abstract: A frame for supporting a photovoltaic module (PV) includes a plurality of sidewalls, which are arranged to support the PV module at a spaced distance from an installation surface. The sidewalls define an interior volume having an open top and open bottom. One sidewall has a plurality of openings defined therethrough along a portion of a length thereof. A plenum is disposed adjacent to an exterior surface of the first sidewall and extends along at least the portion of the length of the first sidewall having the plurality of openings defined therethrough. The plenum has an inlet port for receiving a flow of warmed air from a source of warmed air, and is configured to distribute the flow of warmed air through at least some of the plurality of openings in the first sidewall and into the interior volume.

  • Patent number: 11613864
Abstract: A pile shoring wall includes tangent concrete piles that are formed in the ground at an excavation site. The tangent concrete piles include a plurality of a first type of concrete piles in the ground at depths wherein the average depth is d1 and a plurality of a second type of concrete piles. The second type of concrete piles includes 10% and less than 50% of the tangent concrete piles, and each have a shaft of a helical pile secured therewithin. Each helical pile has a bottom portion with helical flights for screwing the helical pile into the ground, and each helical pile is set into the ground to a depth of at least about 2 m below d1. The helical flights of each helical pile are exposed to the surrounding soil and increase resistance below an excavation depth when the site is excavated.

  • Patent number: 11614259
Abstract: A geothermal system includes an outer vessel having a sidewall that is in contact with surrounding ground material. A geothermal pile is disposed within an interior volume of the outer vessel, wherein a first heat conducting liquid at least partially fills a space between an inner surface of the sidewall of the outer vessel and an outer surface of the geothermal pile when in an installed condition. A conduit disposed within an interior space of the geothermal pile conducts a second heat conducting liquid along a flow path within the geothermal pile toward a bottom end thereof and then back to an outlet at a top end thereof. During operation, heat is transferred from the surrounding ground to the second heat conducting liquid via the first heat conducting liquid within the space between the inner surface of the sidewall of the outer vessel and the outer surface of the geothermal pile.

  • Publication number: 20220228357
Abstract: A system for in situ rehabilitation of a corrugated culvert or other conduit includes a support frame coupled to an inner surface of the culvert. The support frame provides attachment points that are spaced away from the inner surface of the culvert. An assembly of interconnected longitudinal planks is coupled to the support frame and forms a liner within the culvert. Each longitudinal plank has an inwardly facing surface that forms a portion of an inner surface of the liner and an outwardly facing surface opposite the inwardly facing surface. At least one longitudinal protrusion extends away from the outwardly facing surface of each longitudinal plank. A layer of a cured cementitious grout material fills or substantially fills a space between the inner surface of the host pipe and the plurality of interconnected planks, and the at least one longitudinal protrusion of each longitudinal plank is embedded within the cured cementitious grout material.
