  • Publication number: 20230404223
Abstract: An item of jewelry has a main body with a first and second end, which, in the closed state, is located opposite the first end. The main body defines a through-opening and the two ends of the main body can be moved away from one another to form a through-opening. The main body has a channel, in which at least one resiliently elastic element is movably arranged. The first end of at least one connecting element is fastened directly or indirectly on the first end of the main body, and which extends over a free space between the first and the second ends of the main body in the open state. When the first and second ends of the main body are moved apart the resulting activation of the resiliently elastic element generates a restoring force which moves the two ends of the main body towards one another.

  • Patent number: 6663140
Abstract: A side impact protection device for an occupant of a vehicle includes a housing fastened on the vehicle body side, a gas generator and an air bag. Within the air bag, a partition is provided which has a blocking effect for the gas flow emerging from the gas generator, and a main through-flow opening is formed on the partition. So that, in the inflated condition, the air bag takes up its ideal operating position, it is provided that, in its mounted position, the air bag is installed so that it is rotated with respect to the gas generator or to the housing, specifically in the opposite direction to the erection moment in effect in the air bag during the inflation thereof.

  • Publication number: 20030154873
Abstract: Rotatable shafts that are configured as profiled shafts or as spindles provided with cams or pressure pieces are used to actuate devices for retaining and/or tensioning in cylinders, especially in cylinders or printing machines. Such shafts require in addition to a device for actuating the clamping and/or tensioning device also a locking device for securing them against unintentionally twisting or releasing them and for the defined adjustment of their position. The aim of the invention is therefor to provide a single means for clamping or tensioning as well as locking the shaft. To this end, the device can be swiveled in the peripheral direction of the shaft for tensioning/clamping it, and about an axis that is substantially perpendicular to the swivel axis of the shaft for locking the shaft. For adjusting and fixing a defined position of the shaft (04) and for locking it with respect to its direction of swiveling a pawl (21) interacts with a pair of stops (24,26) in the locking position (A).

  • Patent number: 6168228
Abstract: A passenger compartment for a passenger car has one B-column on each vehicle body side which leads into a side member situated below the B-column for increasing the transverse stiffness of the passenger compartment in the event of side impact loads. A transversely stiffening tube construction is composed of two laterally exterior upright reinforcing tubes and a tube-shaped stiffening element which extends over the width of the vehicle body. In order to achieve a more favorable introduction of force in the event of a side impact load, each upright reinforcing tube is linked to an adjoining connection plate with a lower edge area which is supported on the exterior side of the side member. An inwardly projecting supporting tube leads away from each reinforcing tube above the elevation of the side member. This supporting tube is rigidly connected in the area of the passenger compartment with one of the outer ends of the transversely extending, tube-shaped stiffening element.

  • Patent number: 6106005
Abstract: A side impact protection device for an occupant of a vehicle has an installation module including at least a housing, a gas generator, and a gas bag. The module is mounted on a door interior panel, with an outlet opening for the inflated gas bag being provided on an upright wall section of door trim located in front. For improved utilization of the existing door cavity and to achieve a rigid connection between the housing and the door interior panel, the housing has a trough-shaped receiving section for the gas generator, an expulsion channel located in front for the gas bag, and a panel-shaped mounting section. The receiving section passes through a recess in the door interior panel and penetrates into the door cavity located behind.

  • Patent number: 6106004
Abstract: A side impact protection device for an occupant of a vehicle includes an air bag which is divided by an interior partition into two chambers situated above one another. The lower chamber interacts with a gas generator. A primary opening having a relatively large cross-section is formed at the partition. So that an optimal functioning of both chambers of the air bag is always ensured during the inflation, at least one other opening with a relatively small cross-section is provided on the partition next to the primary opening situated outside the radiation area of the gas generator. The other opening extends at a distance to the primary opening and acts as a pressure relief valve when the lower chamber of the air bag is inflated.
