  • Publication number: 20250101475
Abstract: The present invention relates to the provision of an enzymatic method for the preparation of 2,6-bis(hydroxy methyl)pyridine starting from 2,6-lutidine using a mutated xylene monooxygenase enzyme, termed ppXMO, comprising a xylM subunit and a xylA subunit from Pseudomonas putida, wherein said mutated enzymes harbor an amino acid exchange at position 116 of the amino acid sequence of XylM component. The essence of the invention is that the methionine (M) at this position is replaced with an aminoacid selected in the group consisting of asparagine (N), lysine (K), arginine (R) and glycine (G), which surprisingly results in a direct methyl hydroxylation of 6-methyl-2-pyridine methanol resulting in improved overall process yield, less side products are produced, avoidance of toxic reaction intermediates and minimizing the need for involvement of endogenous reductase enzymes as well as NADPH and its regeneration. Other enzymes related to XylM of P.

  • Patent number: 11976276
Abstract: The present invention is related to a method for recovering two or more genes, or gene products, or cDNAs, encoding for an immunoreceptor having two or more subunits, which two or more genes, or gene products, are comprised in a given source cell. The invention is further related to a method of creating a library of expressor cells, in which library each cell is capable of expressing two or more genes, or gene products, encoding for the subunits of the immunoreceptor. The invention is further related to a method of screening a library of expressor cells as created according to the above method, for one cell that expresses an immunoreceptor that has specificity for a given target molecule.

  • Patent number: 11766161
Abstract: A container holder for a dish basket of a household dishwasher includes a holding device, which has a holding position for holding a container and a downwardly inclined position relative to the container. The holding device is designed to move out from the holding position into the inclined position when a vertical, downwardly directed force is exerted on the holding device and exceeds a threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20230250456
Abstract: The present invention relates to the provision of an enzymatic method for the preparation of 2,6-bis(hydroxymethyl) pyridine (Formula I) using as substrate 2,6-Dimethlypyridine (2,6-lutidene) and the multicomponent xylene monooxygenase comprising XylM and XylA from Pseudomonas putida (Arthrobacter siderocapsulatus). The enzymatic method of the present invention is advantageous over conventional synthetic preparations, providing access to the title compound with a one-step enzymatic procedure.

  • Patent number: 11696669
Abstract: A holder for holding washware in a dish rack of a household dishwasher includes a holding element fastenable on a side wall of the dish rack for pivoting about a vertical axis in a first pivoting direction and a second pivoting direction in opposition to the first pivoting direction. The holding element is designed to block the holding element from pivoting in the first pivoting direction and in the second pivoting direction when the holding element assumes a holding position in which the washware is held and the holding element is pivoted away from the side wall in the holding position.

  • Patent number: 8546145
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of fast identification and isolation of cells featuring a desired phenotype. The phenotype is coupled to the amount of gas-liberating enzymes or increased growth. The cells are encapsulated into microcapsules allowing exchange of solvents through the microcapsule wall, but retaining some or all of the gas formed by gas-liberating enzymes on contact with corresponding substrates. Microcapsules containing increased amounts of gas-liberating enzymes are starting to float and can be separated. The cells are then isolated from the microcapsules according to standard procedures.

  • Publication number: 20050013788
Abstract: The invention relates to sorptive composite materials comprising a sorbent entrapped in a cross-linked acrylic polymer. These composites can be tailored for extraction and feeding of compounds from/to liquid phases or multiphase systems such as cell suspensions. Key features of the sorptive composite materials arc stability (chemical, mechanical, biological and thermal), selectivity (physical and chemical), biocompatibility, and a characteristic upon which the sorptive composite materials can be separated from liquid or multi-phase systems. The invention also relates to techniques for the preparation of such sorptive composite materials as well as applications thereof.
