  • Publication number: 20090155916
Abstract: A liquid analyser has a reactor portion and an associated measurement portion. A sample pump is operable to deliver a liquid sample to a reactor vessel. A base pump supplies a base solution to the reactor vessel. An ozone generator supplies ozone to the reactor vessel. The liquid sample is oxidised in the reactor vessel by means of hydroxyl radicals which are generated using the base solution and ozone to reduce complex components of the liquid sample to their lowest state in solution. The oxidised sample solution is delivered to an optical detector in the measurement portion to determine the concentration of one or more selected materials such as nitrogen, phosphorous or a heavy metal in the oxidised sample solution.

  • Publication number: 20090153209
Abstract: An HDMI cable carries high speed encoded data which are transmitted differentially over data channels, along with a clock. High-frequency loss and differential skew within a differential signal may be compensated by analog circuits embedded in the cable. These embedded circuits are tuned at production for best performance by observing the quality of the recovered analog signal. The embedded circuits are powered by a combination of power sources, both carried within the cable, and harvested from the high-speed signals themselves. Methods are provided for deskewing, equalizing, and boosting the differential signals in the embedded circuits that are mounted on a PCB.

  • Publication number: 20090030635
Abstract: An HDMI cable may exhibit frequency dependent signal attenuation, inter symbol interference, and inter-pair skew. A boost device integrated with the cable can compensate for such impairments of the cable. A self calibrating cable with a boost device of the embodiment of the invention is described, in which parameters that control the response of the boost device are set optimally in a self-calibrating process comprising looping the boosted cable on itself through a calibration fixture that contains a calibration control device. The boost device includes pattern generators and a sampling circuit. Each high speed channel of the cable is separately tested and calibrated with the help of one of the other channels serving as a sampling channel.

  • Patent number: 6623974
Abstract: The invention provides an ozone hydroxy radical analysis method for a liquid carrying a suspension of organic matter. The analyser includes a reactor vessel 2 having sample inlets and outlets 3 and 4 respectively for a liquid stream 5. The reactor vessel 2 is connected to a control system 10 and is fed from an acid vessel 15, a base vessel 16 and an ozone generator 20. The reactor vessel 2 contains glass beads and a catalyst is introduced into the reactor vessel. With a manganese catalyst and glass beads, the manganese coats the glass beads which therefore retain catalyst with the reactor vessel.
