  • Patent number: 10710345
Abstract: The present invention relates to a waterproof and water vapor permeable laminate, comprising: an first functional layer comprising a first water vapor permeable membrane; a second functional layer comprising a second water vapor permeable membrane; and a water vapor permeable intermediate textile layer arranged in between the first membrane and the second membrane and attached to the outer and inner functional layers in a water vapor permeable manner; the intermediate textile layer being hydrophobic.

  • Publication number: 20190009496
Abstract: A textile laminate as described herein comprises a water vapor permeable outward facing protective membrane comprising an inner surface and an outer surface and a textile attached to the inner surface of the membrane, wherein the textile has a surface having a pattern of high regions and low regions. The outer surface of the membrane has a surface topography comprising a pattern of high and low regions that are dimensionally coordinated with a pattern of high and low regions on the surface of the textile.

  • Patent number: 7162748
Abstract: Handcovering, i.e. glove (72) or mitten, comprising an outer shell (50) and an inner glove insert (52) adhered to the shell (50). The glove insert (52) comprises a lining fabric laminated to a functional layer (42) that is water vapor permeable waterproof. The inner glove insert (52) is substantially free of folds or bunching of the insert (52) inside the glove (72).

  • Publication number: 20060165939
Abstract: The invention discloses a welded seam (80) between the two edges of two laminates (1a, 1b), each laminate comprising a waterproof functional layer (50) and a textile layer (30). The textile layer (30) comprising a first component and a second component, the first component being stable to a first temperature and the second component melting at a second temperature. The seam (80) is formed by the melted second component and the non-melted first component of the textile layers of each laminate and the edges are in a substantially edge-to-edge buttes orientation to each other. In this case a waterproof, durable seam with very small dimensions is created.

  • Patent number: 6716778
Abstract: The invention discloses a textile laminate (1, 400, 450) with a first layer (5) comprising a waterproof and preferably breathable functional layer (10, 20) and a second layer (30) comprising at least a first component and a second component. The first component is stable to a first temperature and the second component melts at a lower second temperature. In one embodiment of the invention, the first component is polyester and the second component may be a thermoplastic such as copolyester, polyamide, copolyamide or polyethylene. The textile laminate (1) is particularly advantageous when two of such laminates (1, 400, 450) have to be joined or fused together. In this case a waterproof seam is created at the seam (500) between the two laminates (1, 400, 500).

  • Patent number: 6154886
Abstract: The invention relates to a glove insert (10) which is made of a first textile piece (20) and second textile piece (30) and has a finger portion (40) having a finger radial side (44) and a finger ulnar side (46), a thumb portion (50) with a thumb tip (60) and a finger-side thumb outer edge (55), a palm portion (70), a cuff portion (80) with an ulnar side cuff outer edge (85) on the ulnar side of the glove insert (10) and a radial side cuff outer edge (86) on the radial side of the glove insert (10), a hand entry (90) through which the wearer slips a hand, and a crotch (100) being between the finger radial side (44) and the thumb portion (60). The first textile piece (20) is joined to the second textile piece (30) by a first seam (110) situated on the cuff ulnar side outer edge (85), the finger radial-side outer edge (44) and the finger-side thumb outer edge (55) and running from the thumb tip (60) across the palm portion (70) and cuff portion (89) towards the cuff ulnar side outer edge (85).
