  • Patent number: 9211372
Abstract: A method of delivering a medicament to a limb of a patient body includes isolating a circulatory system of the limb from a circulatory system of the patient body, wherein the limb circulatory system is substantially all limb arteries and substantially all limb veins located between an isolation region and an end of the limb. A perfusion catheter is inserted into a limb artery in an antegrade position, while a collection catheter is inserted into a limb vein in a retrograde position. The blood flow of the limb circulatory system is then circulated by collecting the blood flow with the collection catheter and delivering the blood flow with the perfusion catheter. A medicament is perfused into the limb circulatory system with the perfusion catheter.

  • Patent number: 9215012
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for mitigating natural and man-made interference through the use of one or more orthogonal, or nearly-orthogonal, projections of the received signal, which is assumed to be contaminated with interference, into one or more orthogonal projection spaces based on properties of the signal of interest. Once separated into orthogonal projection space(s), the system and method use information contained in the orthogonal projection space(s) to separate the signal of interest, or target signal, from the interference and to mitigate the interference.

  • Publication number: 20150356720
Abstract: A process is provided for estimating a three-dimensional (3D) radiance field of a combustion process in an enclosure. An on-line intensity-temperature calibration is performed based on an association between an intensity of an image pixel and an actual temperature associated with a selected region in the enclosure. The intensity of the corresponding image is transformed to a radiance image based on settings of an image-capturing device and the on-line calibration. A registration and alignment estimation of the image is performed based on positional information of the enclosure. The radiance image is aligned based on the registration estimation. The 3D radiance field having voxels of the enclosure is estimated based on a two-dimensional to 3D transforming of the aligned radiance images.

  • Publication number: 20150354111
Abstract: A fiber-based carrier structure is made of fractions of industrially produced reinforcing fibrous materials, which contains endless fibers in a tangled arrangement as a first reinforcing fiber component and which contains endless fiber bundles as a second reinforcing fiber component. The fiber-based carrier structure further has a pore system. Accordingly, the endless individual fibers and the endless fiber bundles are used as a mixture preferably in an isotropic tangled arrangement to produce a fiber-based carrier structure, the pore system of which is an open-cell pore system and is openly accessible from outside. The fiber-based carrier structure enables the absorption of liquids and/or solid particles by the selection of a defined mixture ratio of endless fiber bundles and endless individual fibers. A capacity to be impregnated with and the capacity to absorb liquid and/or solid powdery materials can be set by the mixture ratio.

  • Publication number: 20150351746
Abstract: A surgical suturing device comprises an arced needle comprises a length of suture. An elongate shaft comprises a proximal end and a distal end. A needle driver is on the distal end of the elongate shaft operable to engage and rotate the needle in a circular path. The needle driver reciprocates between a drive stroke wherein the needle is rotated and a return stroke. A trigger is on the proximal end of the elongate shaft. A drive rod in the elongate shaft operably connects the trigger and the needle driver. Moving the trigger in a first direction actuates the needle driver through its drive stroke, and moving the trigger in a second direction actuates the needle driver through its return stroke. A spring is operably connected to the drive rod limiting a load transmitted through the drive rod. The spring may limit the load transmitted through the drive rod when the trigger is moved in a first direction.

  • Publication number: 20150355596
Abstract: System and method for video holographic display. Information is received regarding a 2D hogel array with multiple hogel apertures, specifying number, size, and/or spacing of the hogel apertures. Information regarding a 3D scene is received, including a scaling factor mapping the 3D scene to a 3D display volume. Due to gradual variation of radiation patterns from hogel to hogel, a full set of color radiation intensity patterns for the entire hogel array may be generated by interpolating the color radiation intensity patterns from a sparse subset of the hogels without having to compute all of the patterns. The full set of color radiation intensity patterns may then be used to holographically display the 3D scene.
