  • Patent number: 4972070
Abstract: A sensor activated unit, e.g., a drinking fountain or a wash basin, for preventing unwanted operation. The sensor has a power on reset circuit that makes use of a resistor capacitor network and a voltage threshold comparing device to create a time delay that will inhibit the operation of the unit for a nominal predetermined time period when current is first supplied to the sensor. The sensor does not activate until a user steps up to the unit and is within a preset range or distance from the unit. Use is made of an infrared sensor for controlling the operation of the unit. Circuitry is provided to control the time of commencement of the operation of the unit, the time period duration of operation, and down time of the unit before it is readied for operation again.

  • Patent number: 4891864
Abstract: A flush valve operating means having a housing with a sleeve assembly therein and a piston actuating means within the sleeve, the housing having two fluid inlets and the sleeve having a by-pass means for diverting fluid from one side of the piston to the other to provide equal fluid pressure over the face of the piston and the piston being slidable within the sleeve in response to fluid supply line pressure being applied to one face of the piston to actuate the flush valve.

  • Patent number: 4805247
Abstract: A flushing system for a sanitary disposal device, such as a urinal or a water closet, including a flush valve, a flush valve actuator and external controls to control the activation of the flush valve to predetermine the time when the flush valve is rendered operative to be activated, and a sensor responsive circuit responsive to the receipt of infrared rays transmitted or reflected from a particular area or volume relative to the sanitary disposal device for activating the sensor responsive circuit to cause the flush valve to be rendered operative to flush the sanitary disposal device, and a control to provide for adjustment in the field of the particular area or volume which is to render the sensor responsive circuit activated.

  • Patent number: 4802246
Abstract: A flush valve operating arrangement in which a pair of tubes extends between a flush valve actuator assembly and a remotely controlled operated unit, and a third tube is under supply line pressure and connected between the flush valve and the remotely controlled operated unit, the remotely controlled operated unit being connectable with the supply line pressure from the third tube with the pair of tubes; the pair of tubes and a fixture being connected with the flush valve with a water level control for controlling the water level in the fixture effective to prevent actuation of the flush valve actuator assembly by the remotely located operated unit to thereby prevent overflow of the fixture and flooding of a surrounding area; and a remote control for control of the actuation of the flush valve to render the same selectively operable separate from the water level control.

  • Patent number: 4793588
Abstract: The invention relates to flush valves in which an external operating handle is eliminated. An electronic sensor, solenoid valve and a solenoid contained within a single unit to operate a flush valve are provided which is either built into the flush valve or can be retrofitted to a conventional flush valve with an external operating handle. The solenoid valve can also be controlled by external means separate and apart from the infra-red sensor mechanism.
