  • Patent number: 7523275
Abstract: Provided are a method, system, and program for accessing a resource. Requests are generated to access a resource in a first access mode and a second access mode. The requests are processed to access the resource in the second mode before processing at least one request to access the resource in the first access mode. The processing of the requests to access the resource in the first access mode is delayed for a time period after processing all the requests to access the resource in the second access mode in order to wait to receive a subsequent request to access the resource in the second access mode.

  • Patent number: 7508485
Abstract: This invention directs to a video/motion picture displaying apparatus for viewing via 3D spectacles with an internal 3D synchronizing unit including an image capturing means, a synchronizing means to identify synchronization events according to a set of synchronization rules, and a transmitting unit. It further directs to a 2D video/motion picture embedded with synchronizing signals produced with the same synchronization rules. The invention also discloses a 3D synchronizing signal composing/embedding device for embedding synchronizing signals to a 2D video/motion picture including a data capturing means, a converting means, a synchronizing means and a composing means or an embedding means. • Publication number: 20090073558
Abstract: Continuous Adjustable 3Deeps Filter Spectacles are provided with lenses with continuously changeable optical densities, so that viewing of 2D movies is optimized for visualization in natural 3D. Method and means are disclosed for the continuous Adjustable 3Deeps Filter Spectacles to perform two independent optimizations to achieve optimized 3Deep visual effects on 2D movies. First they compute the optical density setting of the lenses for optimal viewing of 2D movies as 3D. Then they continuously render the lenses of the spectacles to these optical densities optimized for characteristics of the electro-optical material from which the lenses of the spectacles are fabricated. The invention works for both 3DTV and 3D Cinema theater viewing.

  • Publication number: 20080162311
Abstract: A method for web-based evaluated receipt settlement of a invoice, the method comprising: generating a purchase order number for a product; shipping of the product to customer by supplier; issuing of a receipt settlement via an Internet or Intranet to the customer; determining if a shipping notice exists to receive against the receipt settlement; generating a receiver file if a shipping notice exists; determining if there is any discrepancy between the shipping notice and the quantity of the products set forth in the receiver file; determining if the receiver file should be released to accounts payable; and performing a 2-way match of the receiver file.

  • Publication number: 20070283314
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems for performing a change-over to one or more components of a computing system. As part of a change-over procedure to one or more system components (i.e. software routines) of a production computing system, a clone of one or more production system components of the production computing system may be generated on the same computing platform as the production computing system component is running. According to some embodiments of the present invention, “virtualization” is one technique which may be used to generate and maintain a clone system component or virtual machine.

  • Patent number: 7133983
Abstract: For a technique for maintaining consistency of data, one or more blocks of data identified by a first structure are copied to form a consistent set of data. While not acknowledging completion of write requests to any blocks of data, a second structure is created, wherein the second structure indicates which blocks of data are modified while the consistent set of data is being formed.

  • Publication number: 20060166749
Abstract: The invention concerns a sliding articulation (1) comprising an outer hub (2) wherein is housed an inner hub (3). The outer hub (2) and the inner hub (3) comprise corresponding respective raceways (7, 11) wherein are housed balls (6) which are guided by a cage (4) arranged between the outer hub (2) and the inner hub (3). The invention is characterized in that the inner hub (3) can slide freely relative to the outer hub (2) in the axial direction, between a first stop (8) and a second stop (9, 21), over a distance (14), when the balls (6) roll in the raceways (7, 11) and it can slide over a second distance (13) when the balls (6) slide in the raceways (7, 11).

  • Publication number: 20060166751
Abstract: An Rzeppa joint 1 comprises an inner hub 4, an outer hub 7 and a cage 5, which is guided between the two and which holds a number of balls 6 inside radial openings 8. The aim of the invention is to facilitate the assembly of the Rzeppa joint 1. To this end, the inner hub 4 is provided with a first element 10a, 10b and with a second element 11a, 11b that are located, in essence, one behind the other along the inner hub axis 4.

  • Patent number: 6996688
Abstract: Disclosed is a method, system, and program for reducing an mount of data transferred. Indicators of sub-blocks modified for a block of data since the block of data was last sent to remote storage are maintained until the block of data is demoted. The maintained indicators are used to identify sub-blocks on the block of data for transfer to the remote storage. Disclosed is a method, system, and program for managing metadata in cache. A first policy is used to determine when to remove data from a primary cache, and a second policy is used to determine when to remove data from a metadata cache.

  • Publication number: 20050153782
Abstract: An opposed path joint comprising an inner hub, which is provided with first inner grooves and second inner grooves, and comprising an outer hub, which is provided with first outer grooves and second outer grooves that respectively form a pair with the first and second inner grooves. The opposed path joint also comprises an annular cage, which is placed between the inner hub and the outer hub and which has a radial openings whose number corresponds to that of the groove pairs. Balls that engage inside the grooves are guided inside these radial openings. According to the invention, the outer hub of the opposed path joint is a single-piece closed ring, in which the outer grooves are formed without cutting. Alternatively, the outer hub has at least two elements that are located one behind the other on the outer hub axis and, together, center the cage.

  • Patent number: 4357883
Abstract: A loose fitting movable cover plate (36), suitable for the severe service encountered in a fluidized bed combustor (10), restricts the flow of solids into the combustor drain lines (30) during shutdown of the bed. This cover makes it possible to empty spent solids from the bed drain lines which would otherwise plug the piping between the drain and the downstream metering device. This enables use of multiple drain lines each with a separate metering device for the control of solids flow rate.

  • Patent number: 4208988
Abstract: Vibration of boiler tubes in a bank of parallel tubes of a multidrum boiler is prevented by means of directing a restraining tube in each bank of tubes obliquely between spaced drums. The oblique tube is welded to the parallel tubes at each point of contact to provide mutual support therefor. Boiling water is directed through the oblique tube as well as the parallel tubes so that circulation through the tubes is enhanced while tube vibration is prevented.
