Abstract: A supercharged internal combustion engine may include an exhaust gas turbocharger which is integrated into an exhaust section on the turbine side and into an intake section on the compressor side. An exhaust gas recirculation line may connect the exhaust section and the intake section. The exhaust gas recirculation line may branch off from the exhaust section downstream of a turbine of the exhaust gas turbocharger and opens into the intake section upstream of a compressor. A valve device for performing at least one of open-loop and closed-loop control of an exhaust gas recirculation rate may be arranged in the region of the exhaust gas recirculation line.
