  • Publication number: 20250158473
Abstract: Various embodiments of the teachings herein include an electric rotating machine or liquid pump. An example includes: a first liquid-free area; a second liquid-containing area; a can separating the first area from the second area, the can defining a stator-side and a rotor-side; and a sealing element at an axial end of the can. The sealing element is arranged symmetrically with respect to force effect on the can so that forces acting at the axial end of the can due to the seal are equalized.

  • Publication number: 20250116732
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, for calibration quality control using multiple magnetometers. One of the methods includes: receiving measurements by two or more magnetic field sensors of a device over a period of time, wherein each measurement measures a magnetic field at each magnetic field sensor, wherein each measurement at each time point over the period of time includes a vector in one or more spatial axes of a three-dimensional space; computing a difference between the measurements over the period of time, wherein the difference at each time point over the period of time is a result of computing a difference based on one or more pairs of the vectors at the time point; determining that the difference does not remain within a predetermined range over the period of time; and in response, classifying calibration quality of the device as unsuitable for computing a heading of the device.

  • Publication number: 20250025838
Abstract: A membrane distillation module comprises a hollow fiber membrane bundle in a housing. A plurality of hydrophobic hollow fiber membranes is secured at each end in membrane boots by chemical bonding of the fiber membrane to a potting compound. The membrane bundle is supported by supporting rods secured to flanges attached to the membrane boots. Fiber packing density is selected to optimize passage of vapor away from the permeate side of the hollow fiber membranes. A center core spanning the length of the membrane bundle serves to conduct feedwater entering the bottom of the module to a bundle top cap where the feedwater is evenly distributed into the hollow fiber membranes. The housing is configured to accommodate expansion of liquid water to the vapor phase during vacuum membrane distillation and to facilitate exit of water vapor from the module via an outlet connected to a vacuum pump.

  • Publication number: 20240375041
Abstract: A method and a system of abating carbon dioxide (CO2) and/or hydrogen sulfide (H2S) in a geological reservoir. Water is pumped or transferred from a water source to an injection well. The gasses are merged with the water under conditions where the hydraulic pressure of the water is less than the pressure of CO2 and/or H2S gas at the merging point. The water with CO2 and/or H2S gas bubbles is transferred further downwardly at a certain velocity higher than the upward flow velocity of said CO2 and/or H2S gas bubbles ensuring downward movement of gas bubbles resulting in full dissolution of said CO2 and/or H2S in the water due to elevating pressure.
