  • Patent number: 4275718
Abstract: A pelvic device which includes a pair of pads, one pad of which can be located in opposed relationship to the pubic bone and the other pad in opposed relationship to the lower sacrum. Each pad is rotatably connected to a connecting bar. Each connecting bar respectively interconnects the lateral ends of a pair of convexly curved metal spring members to provide a closed loop which can encircle the body without touching any soft tissue, pressure being exerted only on pubic bone in front and lower sacrum. One of the connecting bars is hingedly connected to its associated pair of lateral ends while the other connecting bar is rigidly connected to one of its associated lateral ends, and includes a latch interconnecting it to the other of its associated lateral ends. Each pad can be controllably inflated to regulate its outer contour thereby controlling the amount of pressure that the device can exert onto the wearer of the device.
