  • Publication number: 20240396467
Abstract: A device converts electrical energy into heat with a conversion module. The conversion module contains a first resistor assembly connected to a first connection terminal and has a plurality of resistor disks, and a first semiconductor switch being used to block or allow a flow of current through the first resistor assembly. The conversion module further has a second resistor assembly connected to the first connection terminal and has a plurality of resistor disks, and a second semiconductor switch being used to block or allow a flow of current through the second resistor assembly. The resistor disks of the first and of the second resistor assembly are arranged in a first stack between first and second cooling plates. The first stack has a middle cooling plate which separates the resistor disks of the first resistor assembly from the resistor disks of the second resistor assembly.

  • Patent number: 11081972
Abstract: A potential equalization system for a modular multi-level converter. The converter has a plurality of converter modules and each of the modules has a direct current source. The potential equalization system includes pole contacts, which are each electrically connected to one pole of a direct current source, and at least one electrically conductive contacting element, which can be moved between a first end position in which the contacting element is electrically isolated from the converter modules and a second end position in which the contacting element contacts pole contacts of different direct current sources and can be put on ground potential.

  • Patent number: 11063524
Abstract: An electrical device with a semiconductor circuit that is configured for a high voltage and is arranged in a housing. The housing is formed of a plurality of housing parts which are electrically insulated from one another. Different electrical potentials can be assigned to the housing parts. There is also described an converter with the electrical device.
