Patent number: 10743924Abstract: A bone reduction instrument includes first and second members moveably coupled to each other such that ends of the first and second members are positionable in first and second positions. In the second position the first and second members are closer to each other than in the first position. The instrument also includes a support member disposed at the end of the first member and includes a plate retaining portion extending from the first member in a direction toward the second member. The plate retaining portion includes wall portions that define a space therebetween configured to receive a bone plate so that the bone plate is held between the wall portions when the bone plate is disposed within the space.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 2017Date of Patent: August 18, 2020Assignee: Stryker European Holdings I, LLCInventors: Antina Krauss, Matthias Leyendecker, Martin Knape

Patent number: 10314598Abstract: A drill guide for drilling bone comprising a housing having a bore running through the housing is disclosed. In one embodiment, the drill guide may comprise a locking member coupled to the housing that is adapted to engage with a locking portion of a drill bit to lock the drill bit axially within the housing. The locking member may also be adapted to disengage with the drill bit to allow the drill bit to move within the bore of the housing and be inserted into bone. A movable guide may also be provided with the drill guide, such movable guide including a bore for receiving a portion of the drill bit and allowing the same to move axially within the housing. Methods of using the aforementioned drill guide are also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 2016Date of Patent: June 11, 2019Assignee: Stryker European Holdings I, LLCInventors: Martin Knape, Denis Digeser, Cem Adalioglu, Frank Rothmann

Patent number: 9687284Abstract: A locking peg includes a head and a shaft. The head is at the proximal end of the locking peg, and a shaft extends distally from the head to a distal end of the locking peg. The shaft has a threaded proximal portion and an unthreaded distal portion. A length of the unthreaded distal portion of the shaft is greater than a length of the threaded proximal portion of the shaft. When the locking peg is inserted into a bone through a bone plate, the threaded proximal portion of the shaft extends into the bone. This extended threading provides additional axial force to help explant the locking peg during removal of the locking peg.Type: GrantFiled: January 16, 2014Date of Patent: June 27, 2017Assignee: Stryker European Holdings I, LLCInventors: Fernando Pancheco, Martin Knape, Egon Hermann, Kevin Soldan
