  • Patent number: 10618518
Abstract: A method and system for determining the pressure in a brake booster used to actuate a brake system having at least one main brake cylinder. The brake booster connected in a fluid-conducting manner by a non-return valve to an intake manifold of an internal combustion engine. A reduced pressure loss in the brake booster resulting from actuation of the main brake cylinder is balanced with the reduced pressure gain in the brake booster as a result of a pressure difference between the brake booster pressure and the intake manifold pressure. The reduced pressure gain in the brake booster is determined based on time, the air mass flow between the brake booster, and the intake manifold.

  • Patent number: 10457214
Abstract: A method according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, folding in an exterior mirror of a motor vehicle having a door with a rear-mounted hinge. The exterior mirror is folded in when the door is opened and when at least one of the following conditions is met: (1) an obstacle is detected adjacent the door or (2) a speed at which the door is opened is less than a predefined threshold value. A motor vehicle configured to perform the method is also disclosed.

Date of Patent: October 29, 2019
    Assignee: FORD GLOBAL TECHNOLOGIES, LLC

  • Patent number: 9033395
Abstract: A motor vehicle having a side door is disclosed having lower and upper parts. The upper part comprises a window surround for fixed and drop-down windows. The fixed window has a much larger barrel radius of curvature than the drop-down window and the inclusion of the fixed window reduces the chord length of the drop-down window between a beltline of the motor vehicle and a lower edge of the fixed window. This combination allows the use of more tumblehome on the motor vehicle without needing to increase the thickness of the lower part of the side door in order to accommodate the drop-down window when it is lowered.
