  • Publication number: 20220041838
Abstract: A thixotropic agent for increasing the yield point of a curable composition, wherein the thixotropic agent includes (i) at least one urea compound from the reaction of at least one isocyanate with at least one amine and (ii) at least one polyether having blocked hydroxyl groups. The thixotropic agent is preparable in a simple manner and forms a spreadable paste which is firm at room temperature. It is particularly suitable as a constituent of moisture-curing polyurethane or SMP compositions, giving a good increase in the yield point thereof, without adversely affecting storage stability or migration characteristics. It enables phthalate-free adhesives, sealants or coatings that have surprisingly good conveyability coupled with a high yield point, and do not cause any problems with odor or fogging.

  • Publication number: 20090092840
Abstract: A two-component adhesive or sealant composition consists of a first component (K1) comprising a prepolymer P, which displays an isocyanate group, and an acceleration component (K2). The said acceleration component (K2) displays a catalyst, which catalyzes the reaction of isocyanate groups and which is a lead, zinc, or iron (III) complex, as well as compounds displayed on isocyanate-reactive groups that are at most 1% by weight. In particular, adhesives with a high cure velocity and good adhesion can be obtained and adapted very easily to ambient conditions.

  • Publication number: 20090068479
Abstract: The present invention relates to moisture-reactive adhesive compositions which comprise a specific dialdimine of the formula (I) and also a polyurethane polymer P1 which is liquid at room temperature and contains isocyanate groups. These compositions are notable for a very low temperature dependency of the shear modulus, i.e. after 7 days' storage at room temperature and 50% relative humidity they feature a ratio of the shear modulus measured at ?20° C. to the shear modulus measured at 23° C. of less than 1.7. These adhesive compositions are suitable more particularly as glazing adhesives for means of transport.

  • Publication number: 20080199621
Abstract: The invention relates to a two-constituent composition, wherein the first constituent (A) contains at least one polyurethane prepolymer which has isocyanate end groups and is produced from at least one aromatic polyisocyanate and at least one polyol, and at least one polyaldimine which can be obtained from at least one polyamine having aliphatic primary amino groups and at least one aldehyde which, in position ? in relation to the carbonyl group, does not have any C—H groups. The second constituent (B) contains water which is bound to a carrier material. The inventive composition is characterised in that it exhibits a high early strength, and hardens quickly, thus not forming any bubbles.
