Publication number: 20190145467Abstract: Universal joint bushes for universal joints are disclosed, as well as methods of making or treating the universal joint bushes. The universal joint bush may include an outer ring, which has a peripheral layer (R) formed by at least one measure for diffusing an element into regions of the universal joint bush near the surface. The peripheral layer (R) of the outer ring may include nitrogen. A method for producing a universal joint bush having a nitrogen-containing peripheral layer (R) may include preparing a universal joint bush made from a case-hardened steel and diffusing, via a thermochemical treatment, nitrogen into regions of the universal joint bush that are close to the surface in order to form the nitrogen-containing peripheral layer (R). The thermochemical treatment may be carried out in a temperature range of at least 800° C.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 12, 2017Publication date: May 16, 2019Applicant: Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. Patent number: 8460115Abstract: A universal joint or a pivot pin cross with a universal joint pivot pin. A bearing bush seal is fastened to the universal joint pivot pin and absorbs an axially directed force. A universal joint is to be provided which is simple and can be manufactured inexpensively, which makes no compromises with respect to the sealing effect. For this purpose, a bearing bush seal is provided which deflects an axially directed force into a radial direction. This makes an axial stop at the universal joint pivot pin unnecessary. Moreover, manufacturing the bearing bush seal and the accommodation thereof at the universal joint pivot pin are accomplished in a single manufacturing step.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 2010Date of Patent: June 11, 2013Assignee: Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. Patent number: 8150163Abstract: This invention describes an efficient super-resolution method for image enhancement that leverages prior knowledge about the specific task for which detail information is recovered. The particular case of barcode scanning is considered. The barcode localization and decoding algorithm of the present invention employs a subpixel-accurate search algorithm which allows for estimating barcode bit values at a higher resolution than that available in the image data itself. It thus allows for the synthesis of image detail from multiple frames with the result containing more detail than any of the input frames. For efficiency, it leverages special properties of the quadrilateral target object as well as prior knowledge about constant patterns in the barcodes of interest. This allows for real-time software implementations on portable devices such as camera-equipped cell phones where super-resolution helps to overcome some of the typical camera resolution and processing power constraints.Type: GrantFiled: April 11, 2007Date of Patent: April 3, 2012Assignee: Scanbuy, Inc.Inventor: Hannes Martin Kruppa
