  • Patent number: 10017111
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for avoiding collisions between vehicles, comprising receiving data that represent a first travel path of a vehicle, the first travel path being a most probable path of the first vehicle, receiving data that represent at least one second travel path of at least one further vehicle, the second travel path being a most probable path of one of the further vehicles, determining whether the first travel path collides with the second travel path and, upon determination of a travel path collision, initiating generation of a signal to warn a driver of at least one of the vehicles of a possible collision with another vehicle. Additionally disclosed is a similar method for avoiding collisions between vehicles, which is executed by a device in a first vehicle. In this method, additionally, a current position of the first vehicle can be detected, and the travel path of the first vehicle is determined on the basis of the detected current position.

  • Patent number: 9479821
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for facilitating initiation of communication actions in accordance with cable attributes. In one embodiment, cable attributes are referenced that indicate utilization of a cable device at a time a communication event is directed to a user device. The user device and the cable device may be associated with the same user. Communication actions to apply in accordance with the communication event are determined based on at least one of the cable attributes. Thereafter, the communication actions are initiated, for example, such that a user is provided with an indication of the communication event visually via the cable device and/or audibly via the user device, depending on the particular cable attributes.

  • Patent number: 9414415
Abstract: A call setup system and method configured to setup a wireless media session extending from a first network to a second network are provided. The system in one example embodiment includes media gateways (MG-Bs) of a first network interface of an interconnect network and a soft switch B (SSW-B) within the first network. The SSW-B receives a media session initiation from a wireless communication device B (WCD-B) of the first network, wherein the WCD-B is attempting to initiate a media session to a wireless communication device A (WCD-A) of the second network, obtains a MG-Bx network address of a selected MG-Bx of the one or more MG-Bs, forwards a call initiation information to a SSW-A of the second network, and receives a media gateway MG-Ax network address from the SSW-A, wherein the WCD-B of first network is placed in communication with the WCD-A of the second network via the selected MG-Bx and the selected MG-Ax.

  • Publication number: 20160202072
Abstract: An electronic device for outputting a location reference using an attribute value which is assigned to a location to be referenced is provided, wherein the device comprises a memory, a processor system and a data transmission unit. The memory serves for storing and providing a list with attribute values for location referencing, the list consisting of a subset of all attribute values depending on a frequency of the individual attribute values. The processor system is adapted to receive an indication of a location, to determine at least one attribute value which is suitable for location referencing of the location, and for reading out, from the memory, an index value which is assigned to the determined attribute value in the list. The data transmission unit serves for outputting the read-out index value to a further device.

  • Patent number: 8542611
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein provide systems and methods for providing Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) emergency calls via a wireless communication network. In a particular embodiment, a method provides receiving an emergency call request from a VoIP communication network initiated by a VoIP communication client operating on the VoIP communication network. The method further provides processing the emergency call request to determine a wireless device associated with the VoIP communication client. The method further provides determining a location of the wireless device and determining a public safety answering point (PSAP) based on the location of the wireless device. The method further provides establishing an emergency call between the VoIP communication client and the PSAP via the wireless communication system and the VoIP communication network based on the location of the wireless device.
