  • Publication number: 20230378730
Abstract: The present disclosure provides an adjustable-depth junction box assembly comprising a junction box, support-mounting bracket, box-mounting bracket, and at least one screw thread. The box-mounting bracket is connected to the support-mounting bracket. In some embodiments the box-mounting bracket and the support mounting bracket are integrally formed. The support-mounting has a front face that defines an opening in which the junction box is received. The box-mounting bracket includes a mounting portion. The screw thread extends through the junction box and is rotatable coupled the mounting portion of the box-mounting bracket. The screw thread is coupled such that rotation of the screw thread imparts translation of the junction box relative to the support-mounting bracket. The present disclosure further provides a box-mounting bracket assembly comprising a junction box, box-mounting bracket, and at least one screw thread.

  • Patent number: 10851917
Abstract: A seismic clamp for securing a utility pipe to a rigid rod includes a pipe holder that secures the utility pipe to the seismic clamp. A rod fitting secures the rigid rod to the seismic clamp so that the rigid rod extends transverse to the utility pipe. A spacer is disposed between the holder and the rod fitting. The spacer inhibits the rigid rod from contacting the utility pipe when the utility pipe is secured to the seismic clamp, and the rigid rod is secured to the seismic clamp.

  • Patent number: 8658894
Abstract: A temporary cover for covering a central opening in an electrical box cover plate is disclosed. The cover has a front wall, a side wall forming a rim around the periphery of the front wall, a connecting mechanism on the rim for releasably connecting the temporary cover to the box cover plate in a position in which the front wall of the temporary cover is spaced forward from the central opening in the box cover plate, and a release mechanism on the front wall for removing the temporary cover from the box cover plate. The rim of the temporary cover is configured to function as a guide for guiding a cutting tool to cut an opening in the wall member prior to installing an electrical device in the electrical box. A cover assembly including such a temporary cover is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8575484
Abstract: An adjustable-depth ring assembly for mounting an electrical device in an electrical box that is accessible through a wall opening in a wall member disposed forward of the electrical box. In one embodiment, the assembly includes an extension ring, an abutment device, an electrical device, and a finish cover plate forming a pre-assembled unit. The unit is free of any connection with the box cover plate and the electrical box prior to field installation of the unit to connect the unit to the box cover plate and the electrical box. In another embodiment, the assembly includes an abutment device on the extension ring movable from a non-abutting position to an abutting position projecting outward beyond a perimeter of the extension ring for abutting a front surface of a wall member when the extension ring is moved to an installed position.

  • Patent number: 7142412
Abstract: A socket assembly for mounting an electric meter comprising a plurality of power line connector subassemblies for connecting electric power lines to the socket assembly. Each subassembly comprises a generally U-shaped lug of electrically conductive material defining a saddle for supporting one of the electric power lines, a connector and a screw. The connector comprises a body of electrically conductive material having opposite sides slidably engageable with respective legs of the lug. A horn of electrically conductive material projects from the body for connection to a bypass conductor forming at least part of an electrical path for bypassing the electric meter. The screw is threadable through a screw opening in the connector to a position in which the screw is adapted to contact said power line in the saddle of the lug.

  • Patent number: 5730400
Abstract: A cable tray system comprising a cable tray for carrying cable, a support fastened to the cable tray, and at least one cover panel operatively associated with the support for covering cable carried by the cable tray. The cover panel is engageable with the support for pivoting about an axis generally parallel to a longitudinal axis of the cable tray between an open position in which the cover panel is swung up and away from the cable tray to permit access to cables in the tray and a closed position in which the cover panel is swung down to cover cables in the cable tray. The cover panel is removable from the support without removing the support from the cable tray.

  • Patent number: 5595362
Abstract: A bracket for mounting an electrical box on a wall stud including a sheet metal plate having front and rear faces and a large central opening therein. A pair of screw opening formations is provided in the plate generally adjacent diagonally opposite corners of the central opening in the plate. Each formation includes a relatively narrow screw shank clearance slot which receives the shank of a respective box mounting screw. The plate is so configured that an electrical box may be moved to a first position in which the front of the box is closely adjacent the rear face of the plate, and then to a second position in which the shanks of the mounting screws are received in the screw shank clearance slots of respective screw opening formations and in which the front opening of the box is generally in register with the central opening in the plate.

  • Patent number: 5372341
Abstract: A hold-down device for holding a cable tray on a support includes a rigid member having opposite side edges, opposite side margins adjacent respective side edges, and opposite end portions. The member may be placed on the support in a position in which the opposite side margins of the member bear on edges of the support with the member overlying the slot adjacent a flange of the cable tray. The member is constructed and arranged such that it is selectively securable to the support by a threaded fastener either in a clamping position in which one end portion of the member overlies the flange of the cable tray and may clamp the flange of the cable tray thereby to hold the rail in fixed position with respect to the support, or in a non-clamping position in which the opposite end portion of the member overlies the flange of the cable tray but cannot clamp the flange thereby to permit lengthwise thermal expansion and contraction of the rail while still holding the rail on the support.
