  • Patent number: 10885679
Abstract: A method of producing a magnetic resonance (MR) image of a region of interest is provided. The method includes the steps of: acquiring an initial MR image of the region of interest, the initial MR image mapping values of an MR-sensitive, physical property at positions over the region; determining a corresponding map of the estimated uncertainties in the values of the MR-sensitive, physical property over the region; and calculating a weighted MR image of the region, the weighted MR image mapping values of a function which combines, at each position of the initial image, the respective value of the MR-sensitive, physical property and the respective estimated uncertainty, the function applying a higher weighting to positions with relatively low estimated uncertainties than to positions with relatively high estimated uncertainties.

  • Publication number: 20070211958
Abstract: A method and means enabling identification in an NMR image, being one of a time-sequence of images recording induced changes in pixel values of successive images of a subject (such as post-contrast dynamic images), the contribution to the image arising from the presence within the image subject of a specified tissue (e.g. fat). This identification is done using a statistical measure derived from the dynamic data (e.g. pixel value changes due to contrast agent uptake) taken from a plurality of the separate images forming the time-sequence.

  • Publication number: 20070142723
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for concurrently acquiring two sets of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) image data during the same image data acquisition interval in which the magnetic field associated with acquisition of the first data set is caused to differ from the magnetic field associated with acquisition of the second data set. The method includes repeatedly changing the magnetic field in a pre-determined manner during the continuous acquisition of image data comprising the two sets. The relationship between the differing magnetic fields, most preferably the relationship between differing gradient fields, is then be employed in conjunction with the first and second data sets to correct image distortions arising in images constructed according to the data in either set alone.

  • Publication number: 20060089190
Abstract: A multi-game gaming machine includes a gaming console having a first display means on which a simulation of a game can be displayed housed in the console and a second display means also housed in the console. A player input means and a control means are arranged in the console for controlling images displayed on the first video display means. The gaming machine is arranged to allow a player to select a game to be played on the gaming machine from a plurality of different games. The second video display unit displays information pertaining to the multi-game theme or advertisements for games playable on the machine displayed together or in sequence one after another, when the gaming machine is not being played and/or when no game has been selected, and when a game is selected, or played on the machine, the second video display unit displays at least second information associated with the selected game. The present invention provides significant advantages over existing multi-gaming machines.

  • Publication number: 20050095666
Abstract: The present invention features a multi-bladed cutter and a cradle adapted to grip a tissue sample 10 during cutting. The cutter has a series 4 of juxtaposed blades 5 and the cradle has a series of slits 13 adapted to receive the blades during cutting. The cradle may have opposing curved walls 8,9 which may be brought together to clasp the sample. The apparatus is suitable for cutting tissue such as prostate tissue, which is difficult to section. The apparatus is particularly suited to cutting tissue where chemical fixing is undesirable because nucleic acids are to be sampled from the tissue.
