Abstract: A system for providing hearing assistance to a user having an audio signal source, a transmission unit for transmitting audio signals from the audio signal source via a wireless right ear audio link to a right ear unit having a receiver unit and a device for stimulating the user's right ear according to the audio signals received from the transmission unit and via a wireless left ear audio link to a left ear unit having a receiver unit and means for stimulating the user's left ear according to the audio signals received from the transmission unit, and a device for delaying the stimulation of one of the user's ears with the audio signals received from the transmission unit relative to the stimulation of the other one of the user's ears with the audio signals received from the transmission unit by 1 msec to 10 msec.

Abstract: There is proposed a method and system for hearing protecting individuals, especially musicians. Thereby, such an individual is equipped with a hearing device (3, 5), the attenuation of acoustical signals impinging on such hearing device to signals transmitted towards the ear drum (8) is adjustable. There is provided a remote control unit (9), the output thereof being operationally connected to an attenuation control input (C3) of the device (3). The remote control unit (9) is thereby operated differently than by the hands of the individual (1) which are frequently busy.

Abstract: In of for a hearing device (2) acoustical attenuation within an acoustically effective channel (1) is controllably varied due to controlled variation of at least one of oscillating behaviour ( Z), elasticity (?) and shape of a member (9) within the channel (1).
