  • Publication number: 20180221179
Abstract: An adjustable socket system includes a plurality of shell components and longitudinal supports connected to a base and is movable between an open configuration to loosen the fit of the adjustable socket system, and a closed configuration to secure the fit of the adjustable socket system on residual limb received therein. A tightening system includes a tensioning unit having a handle defining a moment arm rotatable about a rotation axis, and a tensioning element operatively coupled to the handle via a movable connection point and to the shell components via a control point. Rotation of the handle displace the movable connection point and the tensioning element relative to the control point to move the adjustable socket system to the closed configuration.

  • Publication number: 20170202230
Abstract: A liquid or dried granulated milk clotting aspartic protease enzyme composition comprising added polypeptides/proteins. The polypeptides/proteins may be animal-derived (e.g. whey, lactalbumin, transferrin, casein, ovalbumin, gelatin, blood), vegetable-derived (soy, pea, corn, potato, hemp, rice, wheat, peanut, sun flower, rape seed) or algae proteins (e.g. spirulina). Addition of protein in several instances increases activity of the enzyme and simultaneously improves physical stability.

  • Patent number: 9042383
Abstract: A universal network interface controller (UNIC) is provided for interfacing a host computer to a switch fabric, a packet network, or both. The UNIC includes ingress transmit logic designed to transmit switch fabric data in memory associated with the host computer to a switch fabric. The UNIC further includes egress receive logic designed to receive switch fabric data from the switch fabric to store the received switch fabric data in the host memory associated with the host computer. As an option, the ingress transmit logic may be further designed to transmit packet network data in memory associated with the host computer to a packet network, such as Ethernet, and the egress receive logic may be further designed to receive the packet network data from the packet network and to store the received switch fabric data and the received packet network data in the host memory associated with the host computer.

  • Patent number: 9036643
Abstract: A method for establishing a virtual channel between network devices is disclosed. In the case of a local network device establishing a virtual channel with a remote network device, a virtual channel request message is sent from the local network device to the remote network device. A virtual channel acknowledgement message and a remote capability list are received and a virtual channel resume message and a local capability list are sent. The virtual channel is then enabled. In the case of a remote network device establishing a virtual channel with a local network device, a virtual channel request message is received from a local network device by a remote network device. A virtual channel acknowledgement message and a remote capability list are sent and a virtual channel resume message and a local capability list are received. The virtual channel is then enabled.

  • Patent number: 8879388
Abstract: Certain aspects of a method and system for intrusion detection and prevention based on packet type recognition in a network are disclosed. Aspects of one method may include determining a packet type for each of a plurality of received network packets based on at least one of: a header and content of each of the plurality of received network packets. The rate at which the plurality of received network packets are handled at a port in the network switching device may be regulated based on a number of occurrences of the determined packet type of the plurality of received network packets.

  • Publication number: 20140129732
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for multiserver platforms. In some embodiments, a packet from an external network is received in a first switch. The first switch is in a first multiserver platform in which multiple servers communicate with the external network via the first switch. The first switch transmits the packet to a central switch to forward the packet to a second switch in a second multiserver platform. The central switch communicates with the external network via the first switch in the multiserver platform.

  • Publication number: 20140086258
Abstract: The systems and methods disclosed herein allow for a switch (in a packet-switching network) to track buffer statistics, and trigger an event, such as a hardware interrupt or a system snapshot, in response to the buffer statistics reaching a threshold that may indicate an impending problem. Since the switch itself triggers the event to alert the network administrator, the network administrator no longer needs to sift through mountains of data to identify potential problems. Also, since the switch triggers the event prior to a problem arising, the network administrator can provide remedial action prior to a problem occurring. This type of event-triggering mechanism makes the administration of packet-switching networks more manageable.

  • Patent number: 8665892
Abstract: Certain aspects of a method and system for adaptive queue and buffer control based on monitoring in a packet network switch are disclosed. Aspects of one method may include pre-allocating packet buffers from a pool of packet buffers in a network switching device based on anticipation of a type of application data being handled by a particular port of the network switching device according to packet classification and tracking. The buffers may be dynamically allocated and deallocated from the pool of packet buffers for a particular port of the network switching device based on changes to the application data.

  • Publication number: 20130329558
Abstract: A system provides burst absorption of network traffic. The system may include multiple physical (PHY) layer devices in communication with a switch device. The switch device may instruct a PHY layer device to send incoming data received by the PHY layer device at a throttled rate, for example when the switch device identifies a high level of network congestion in the switch. The PHY layer device may absorb the burst of incoming network traffic by buffering incoming data in a queue and sending the incoming data to the queue at a throttled data transfer rate. When the network congestion has been alleviated, the PHY layer device may transmit network traffic to the switch at an accelerated transfer rate to empty the network traffic buffered in the queue.

  • Publication number: 20130235722
Abstract: Certain aspects of a method and system for a power control based on application awareness in a packet network switch are provided. Data communication flow may be monitored in ports in a packet network switch based on packet classification. Ports where data flow is not detected may have at least some functionality disabled to reduce power consumption. In this regard, a power saving mode may be utilized for disabling at least some functionality in a switch port, such as Ethernet ports, for example. A partially disabled port may be fully enabled when monitoring detects active data communication flow in that port. Port functionality may be enabled or disabled sequentially, for example. In some instances, a physical layer portion of the packet network switch may be utilized to adjust power in a port based on the data communication flow.
