  • Patent number: 9563991
Abstract: A dynamic access server engine on a server may be configured to receive a request for access to a restricted area during a specific time period. If there is no scheduling conflict the engine can schedule the access period. Additionally, the request may be associated with one or more invitees. For each invitee, the engine determines whether the invitee is authorized to temporarily access the restricted area. If authorized, the engine automatically grants to the invitee temporary access to the restricted area during the scheduled period.

  • Patent number: 9448250
Abstract: Motion sensors of a mobile device mounted to a vehicle are used to detect a mount angle of the mobile device. The motion sensors are used to determine whether the vehicle is accelerating or de-accelerating, whether the vehicle is turning and whether the mount angle of the mobile device is rotating. The mount angle of the mobile device is obtained from data output from the motion sensors and can be used to correct a compass heading. Data from the motion sensors that are obtained while the vehicle is turning or the mobile device is rotating are not used to obtain the mount angle.

  • Publication number: 20140013100
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media relating to techniques for forming network connections between electronic devices using visual codes are described. Various configurations make use of one of many possible techniques for encoding data into a visual image. A first device which receives indication of intent to establish a data connection with a second device, can display an image containing encoded data. A second device can capture the image with an attached camera and decode the image to obtain connection information for the first device. The first device can then create a data connection with the second device using the information obtained from the image.

  • Publication number: 20130321621
Abstract: An electronic device with an image sensor may capture an image of the surface of a structure as a user moves the device across the surface of the structure. The electronic device may have sensors such as a magnetometer, an acoustic sensor, and a thermal sensor for gathering sensor data. An accelerometer and a gyroscope within the electronic device may be used in gathering position information. The image may be captured by gathering image tiles and stitching together the image tiles to form the image. An object such as a ferromagnetic object may be embedded within the structure below the surface. The electronic device may have a display on which the image is displayed. Information about the location of the object which is gathered using the sensors may be overlaid on top of the displayed image.
