Abstract: Existing methods and systems for recording of complex spatial information, which can be used to record, for example, the structure and plant and machine of oil rigs, generally require storage of large amounts of data. There is a need for systems and methods which can combine photographic images with 3D spatial locations and which can be operated using readily available computing equipment such as laptops and tablets.
