  • Patent number: 5373689
Abstract: A two-sided ring-spinning machine has a frame and a pair of parallel spindle banks each holding a respective row of bobbins. A bobbin-changing apparatus has respective gripper beams engageable with the bobbins of the spindle banks, respective scissor linkages pivoted on the frame and on the gripper beams extendable for raising the respective beams and collapsible for lowering the respective beams, and a single force-transmitting element connected to both of the linkages and displaceable longitudinally in one direction for extending the linkages and in the opposite direction for collapsing the linkages. A single drive is connected between the frame and the force-transmitting element for simultaneously vertically displacing both beams.

  • Patent number: 5275453
Abstract: An apparatus for grasping spun yarn carriers in spinning machines or twisting machines is enabled to clamp spun yarn carriers of different nominal diameter ranges by the provision of a stationary clamping element formed by a common holder and a set of detachable interchangeable clamping elements selectively mountable to and demountable from the holder. Each of the interchangeable clamping elements is associated with a specific predetermined nominal diameter range of spun yarn carriers.

  • Patent number: 5203155
Abstract: A doffing apparatus for removing a row of yarn tubes from a row of upright spindles has a support and a row of grabs mounted on the support, each engageable with a respective tube of a respective spindle, and movable for lifting the tubes off the spindles. Respective sensors at the grabs detect the presence of tubes in the respective stations and generate individual outputs respectively corresponding to the absence of tubes in the respective stations. A controller connected to all the sensors receives the outputs therefrom and stops the apparatus on detection of no tube in any of the stations.

  • Patent number: 5177949
Abstract: A transport apparatus for transporting tubes of the type onto which yarn is built by a textile machine includes a flexible endless member which travels in guided manner in a fixed guide device with the flexible endless member in a generally vertical orientation. A plurality of movable guide assemblies are connected to the flexible endless member at spaced intervals therealong and are engagable with the fixed guide device for spacing the flexible endless member out of interference from the fixed guide device during movement of the flexible endless member. A tube carrier portion is mounted to each movable guide assembly for supporting tubes during their transport by the flexible endless member. A plurality of cog members having recesses for engaging the movable guide assemblies are operable to guide the flexible endless member along arcuate portions of its travel path.

  • Patent number: 5103628
Abstract: Apparatus for transporting spinning tubes mounted on peg trays for supply and removal of spinning tubes to and from spinning positions at opposite sides of a double-sided spinning machine comprises an endless upstanding conveyor belt extending about the machine. A plurality of transport members are affixed along two spaced transport sections of the belt each of a length corresponding to the spinning stations at the opposite machine side, for carrying peg trays with spinning tubes thereon. Obstruction elements are similarly affixed at spacings along the remaining extents of the belt to prevent receipt of peg trays therealong, whereby only the number of peg trays and spinning tubes required to supply the spinning positions of the machine are carried by the transport apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5103627
Abstract: Apparatus for transporting spinning tubes mounted on peg trays for supply and removal of spinning tubes to and from a textile spinning machine comprises an endless upstanding conveyor belt to which a plurality of transport members are affixed at spacings therealong. Each transport member has a recess at its opposite leading and trailing sides such that the leading and trailing recesses of adjacent succeeding transport members are cooperative for receiving therebetween a peg tray. Each transport member also has a concave arcuate guide surface at its opposite leading and trailing sides such that the leading and trailing guide surfaces of adjacent succeeding transport members define an enclosure for securely positioning a peg tray therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4984422
Abstract: A textile machine includes a plurality of tube support devices transported by a transport device to a tube transfer position for transfer of tubes between the tube support devices and a tube handling device. The tube support devices each include an upright member for individually supporting a tube in a substantially upright disposition, the upright member having a recess and an indicator device disposed within the recess. The indicator device cooperates with the transport device to indicate the presence of the upright member at an indicating position located at a predetermined location with respect to the tube transfer position. Accordingly, the transport device determines the presence of an upright member and responds accordingly to reliably position the upright member at the tube transfer position for transfer of the tube between the upright member and the tube handling device.
