  • Publication number: 20230407843
Abstract: A liquid damper for a wind turbine tower includes a damper housing formed from a horizontal lower annulus, a horizontal upper annulus, an essentially cylindrical outer vertical wall and an essentially cylindrical inner vertical wall, wherein the outer diameter of the damper corresponds to the interior diameter of the tower; an operational volume of liquid contained in the damper; and an arrangement of vertical ribs mounted to a vertical wall of the damper. Further provided is a method of assembling a wind turbine.

  • Patent number: 11448196
Abstract: A bearing housing for use in a wind turbine is provided. Further, the bearing housing is axially coupled to a base support structure using plurality of fastening points on the bearing housing. The bearing housing may be coupled to the base support structure at multiple points so that the load is distributed evenly to the support structures such as base plate and the tower. The bearing housing is coupled to the base support structure using a fastener. The horizontal central axis of the bearing housing coincides with the horizontal central axis of the base support structure.

  • Patent number: 10851840
Abstract: A support structure associated with a nacelle of a wind turbine, wherein the support structure includes a bearing having an outer ring and an inner ring is provided. The bearing is surrounded by a bearing housing and a bearing cover. The bearing cover is coupled to the bearing magnetically. In some embodiments, the bearing cover may be coupled to the outer ring of the bearing by bolting. The thickness of the outer ring of the bearing may be increased to accommodate one or more protrusions. The protrusions are composed of a magnetic material and configured to receive a bearing cover.

  • Patent number: 10808767
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a main shaft of a wind turbine with mounting segments. The main shaft includes a shaft portion and a disc portion. The disc portion includes a coupling surface, a hollow portion, and an alignment portion. The alignment portion is characterized by one or more mounting segments coupled with the alignment portion. The mounting segments are configured to align a component of the wind turbine with the central axis of the main shaft. Further, the one or more mounting segments are coupled to the alignment portion using at least one fastening device. The mounting segments have a thickness ‘t’ that may be constant or varied based on the component 32 of the wind turbine coupled to the main shaft.

  • Publication number: 20200102939
Abstract: A bearing arrangement for a wind turbine is provided, including a bed frame, a support structure mounted to the bed frame, a shaft, bearings supporting the shaft rotatably around a shaft axis, and bearing housings supporting one of the bearings respectively, wherein the bearing housings are mounted on opposite faces of the support structure, the faces facing in the axial direction with respect to the shaft axis. The bearing arrangement provides high bending stiffness. At the same time, the bearings in the bearings housings are easily accessible for maintenance, for example.
