Abstract: The invention relates to a transparent, biaxially oriented polyester film composed of at least one base layer (B) which comprises at least 80% by weight of thermoplastic polyester, and of, applied to this base layer (B), a transparent, high-gloss outer layer (A). The outer layer (A) of the invention comprises a specific pigment system which provides improved winding of the film and leads to a highly transparent film with a high-gloss surface (A). The invention further relates to a process for producing the film. The film may be used as a packaging film, in particular for metalizing or for ceramic coating, or for applications in the industrial sector, e.g. as a substrate for stamping films, and in particular to its use on high-speed packaging machinery.
