  • Publication number: 20220202757
Abstract: Protein substitute products that furnish nutrients include amino acid compositions that include essential amino acids and non-essential amino acids in a preferred ratio, along with Vitamins, nutrients and botanicals provided as a food or beverage product that provides sustenance. Amino acids are provided in ratios and with other components to stimulate production of mitochondria in the cells and increase mitochondrial density in each cell type, including in particular muscle cells. Compositions may include simple and complex sugar producing carbohydrates to provide a short to medium energy source to the production of ATP by the mitochondria.

  • Publication number: 20100293113
Abstract: A method and system for tracking and providing compensation to distributors of a product by using a unique identification code to identify the product at the point of sale, the original customer, and/or the original distributor. A product and/or advertising materials for the product, bearing a unique product code, are provided to distributors. The customer provides the unique product code at the point of purchase of one or more products. The distributor, who promoted the sale of the products, is identified based on the unique product code. Compensation is provided to the distributor based on the number of products sold. The customer may be offered a discount based on the unique product code at the point of purchase.

  • Publication number: 20080195326
Abstract: A method and system (100) for comprehensive knowledge-based genetic and other testing and for providing selective access to testing results (120) thereof. In particular, a method and system is provided for the personal, anonymous and confidential examination of the genetic profile of any gene or combination of genes and examining any mutations of such genes to assess the risk of developing a condition, such as a medical disease, or to identify personal characteristics and/or traits. Other data, such as chemical analysis, environmental, personal and family history of medical, behavioral, and other factors can be incorporated to generate a comprehensive knowledge-based assessment. The method and system also include features for providing secure confidential access to such assessments to third parties (160).

  • Publication number: 20050197305
Abstract: The invention includes a reverse polarity 8-aminopurine substituted oligonucleotide hairpin (parallel-stranded hairpin) referred to herein as RP8AP hairpin. Application of the invention to a biological system in a disease state results in the possible interference with a disease causing agent in a number of potential ways, for example, through interference with DNA replication, thereby preventing production of virulent pathogens (for example virus and bacteria) by inhibition of DNA synthesis, through interference with DNA transcription, including by inhibition of production of critical mRNA transcripts necessary for production of proteins essential for microbial multiplication and disease expression, and through interference on the translational level, including by inactivation of synthesized mRNA transcripts used in propagation of the disease, thereby rendering them unable to be translated.

  • Publication number: 20050089893
Abstract: The invention sets forth parallel-stranded hairpins and parallel-stranded hairpins carrying a single strand target, the parallel-stranded hairpins containing 8-aminopurine residues and are able to bind a target molecule of interest due to specificity in the two-dimensional and three-dimensional structures of the parallel-stranded hairpins and parallel-stranded hairpins carrying a single strand target. The invention also relates to creation of a library of parallel-stranded hairpins and associated triplexes for use as aptamers, as well as methods of synthesis of parallel-stranded hairpins and use of the structures of the invention to detect and eliminate molecules of interest.

  • Publication number: 20040137431
Abstract: The invention provides a method of capturing the ribo-nucleic acid (RNA) specific to the West Nile Virus (WNV); specifically it relates to the target sequences within the WNV genome that can be used to capture the specific RNA material for identification and/or provide target regions for the use of specific probes that inhibit the reproduction of the WNV in vivo, in the form of a gene therapy drug.

  • Publication number: 20040073259
Abstract: The invention provides a method of treating a patient infected with any contaminant and/or with any biological/chemical warfare agent wherein the contaminant is other than a human hepatitis C virus, an HIV virus, or the human herpes virus comprising raising the core temperature of the patient and then returning the core temperature of the patient to normal at least one time. Preferably, the patient is an animal infected with an equine herpes virus, a contaminant that has caused an equine encephalitis infection, or a West Nile Virus.
