  • Patent number: 8945002
Abstract: A seal (10) is used for closing-off a proximal-side access port of an access instrument into a body. It has a cap (12) having a wall (14) covering the access port and a circumferential collar (16), which can be put over an edge of the access port. At least two approximately circular-segment-shaped openings are present in the wall (14), wherein a flexible dome sits on each opening and, on the proximal side, has, compared to the circular-segment-shaped openings, a smaller entry port (26, 28).

  • Patent number: 8814886
Abstract: A thread catcher for surgical sewing material consisting of a handle, a hollow shaft positioned on the distal side of the handle, and a catching device that is mounted so that it can be slid lengthwise within the hollow shaft by means of a drive element and whose distal end, which can slide out of the distal end of the hollow shaft, is configured as a catcher loop. To create a thread catcher for surgical sewing material that is simple to operate and ensures rapid and secure grasping of the surgical sewing material, it is proposed with the invention that the catcher loop should consist of at least three segments that are distally connected with one another.

  • Publication number: 20140222022
Abstract: A sealing device for a medical instrument includes a fastening area and a sealing area designed to either bear on the circumference of a medical instrument inserted into the sealing device or to close the sealing device when no medical instrument is inserted. The sealing device further includes a first elastic wall enclosing the sealing area in a ring shape, with an annular first edge, which is connected to the sealing area, and an annular second edge, and a second elastic wall which encloses the first wall in a ring shape and is spaced apart therefrom, with an annular first edge and an annular second edge, which is connected to the fastening area.

  • Patent number: 8702740
Abstract: A medical punch with a hollow shaft, a tool point that is positioned on the distal end of the shaft and includes a rigid cutting part and a cutting part that can slide with respect to the rigid cutting part, and with a handle positioned on the proximal end of the shaft, such that the displaceable cutting part and the handle are operatively connected with one another by a push/pull device that is displaceably mounted in the hollow shaft and an anti-tilt mechanism is positioned on the tool point to stabilize the cutting parts in their axially parallel alignment to one another. The rigid cutting part includes a sleeve-shaped proximal portion that encloses the displaceable cutting part and a distal punch portion configured as a single unit with the sleeve-shaped portion and that the rigid cutting part should be detachably connected with the hollow shaft by a coupling mechanism formed on the sleeve-shaped portion.

  • Patent number: 8702601
Abstract: A medical access device for creating an access to a body for minimally invasive intervention has a hollow body assembled from at least two parts having longitudinal extending edges. Each part has a distal body portion and at an angle to the latter a proximal body portion. A locking mechanism locks the assembled proximal hollow body portions. The locking mechanism has a hook projecting from an edge of a proximal body. A nose of the hook can enter from proximal to distal in a recess in an edge joining said edge having said hook.

  • Patent number: 8517930
Abstract: The invention relates to a valve device for medical instruments, in particular trocars, having a valve body configured as a flap for opening and closing an instrument and/or flow channel, which is positioned rotatably on a rotation axle positioned in a housing. To create a valve device, which combines simple and cost-effective structure with good cleaning properties, it is proposed with the invention that the rotation axle is configured in several components, such that the individual components of the rotation axle can be connected to one another by helical-shaped guide tracks.

  • Publication number: 20130150792
Abstract: A sealing means for sealing an introduction facility for a medical instrument includes a first sealing membrane of an elastic material with a first slit and a second sealing membrane of an elastic material with a second slit. The first sealing membrane and the second sealing membrane abut laminarily on each other. The first sealing membrane and the second sealing membrane are arranged such that the first slit and the second slit are not parallel with each other. Each of the first slit and the second slit is unbranched.

  • Publication number: 20130030457
Abstract: A trocar sleeve for minimally invasive surgery, having a first sleeve part, which has essentially the shape of a straight tubular piece with a longitudinal axis, and having a second sleeve part, which at least partly surrounds the first sleeve part in close contiguity and is movable during use with respect to the first sleeve part. The mobility of the second sleeve part in relation to the first sleeve part consists essentially only in rotatability of the second sleeve part around the first sleeve part, and in addition the first sleeve part and the second sleeve part each comprise on their distal axial ends a flange part that extends radially outward at an angle of less than 180 degrees from the respective sleeve part.

  • Patent number: 8282669
Abstract: A medical instrument for grasping surgical suture material, with a shaft on whose proximal end a handle is positioned consisting of at least two gripping members and on whose distal end a tool is positioned consisting of a rigid jaw member and a pivotable jaw member and where the pivotable jaw member can be pivoted with respect to the rigid jaw member for opening and closing with a moveably configured gripping member of the handle, for which purpose the pivotable jaw member and the moveable gripping member are in active connection with one another by means of an actuating element mounted in the shaft. To create a medical instrument that is both easy to operate and makes possible a safe grasping and guiding of the suture material, it is disclosed that in the rigid jaw member there should be configured an indentation that opens toward the pivotable jaw member and that can be covered, with the tool in closed position, only in the center area by the pivotable jaw member.
