  • Patent number: 6364273
Abstract: A shelf having a light rail extending along a front edge of the shelf which comprises a cover adapted to reflect light onto displayed merchandise while permitting light to pass through selected window portions to illuminate product and pricing information printed on transparent or translucent signage. Signage may also be supported on a sign strip behind the light rails, and along the front edge of the shelf board. In the preferred embodiment wire management is provided by a raceway formed between a cover support and a backing strip for the fluorescent tube. A receptacle in communication with the wiring within the raceway is adapted to receive a connector from the ballust transformer, so that all permanent wiring for the fluorescent tube is concealed within the raceway. The ballust transformer can be unplugged from the wall receptacle and from the raceway receptacle, to thus completely remove the ballust transformer from the shelf for repair or replacement.

  • Patent number: 6059263
Abstract: A parallelogram lift in which the deck rails are raised by lifting legs affixed to sliding members that slide within channels in the deck rails. Link arms pivotally connect to the deck rail to each leg, so that the deck rail lifts vertically. A single hydraulic actuator is used to actuate the legs supporting each deck rail, which ensures that the deck rail remains level during the lifting and lowering processes.

  • Patent number: 5785190
Abstract: The invention provides a hardware mounting system for display and shelving units utilizing removable mounting studs which engage through the display panels into slots provided in the hardware. The studs are positioned at any desired location on the panels of the display or shelving unit, and concealed by the hardware when mounted while providing secure engagement of the hardware to the panel. In the preferred embodiment, the stud is inserted through the rear of the panel and projects slightly beyond the front face of the panel when fully inserted so the hardware does not contact the panel. The invention can also be used for affixing abutting sections of the display unit. Thus, the invention allows for the versatile positioning of hardware without detracting from the aesthetic appeal or sacrificing the load bearing capability of the unit.

  • Patent number: 5695078
Abstract: The invention provides an adjustable standard system for a shelving or display unit having support means comprising supporting hardware attached to a sliding body engaged about a mounting rail. The rail comprises an enlarged front edge or bead which extends through a channel in the sliding body such that the sliding body can slide freely but cannot become detached from the rail. In a preferred embodiment the rail has a tongue provided with openings into which a latch projecting from the support means can be selectively engaged. The rail can be provided with hooks configured to mount on a conventional slotted standard, or with any other securing means which allows the rail to be mounted on a supporting surface. The standard system of the invention provides greater aesthetic appeal than a conventional standard system.

  • Patent number: 5575444
Abstract: The invention provides an adjustable shelf bracket having means for making fine adjustments in the attitude of the bracket relative to the supporting surface, which allows the shelf to be levelled both longitudinally and transversely, and substantially facilitates alignment with adjacent shelves. In one embodiment this is accomplished by pivotally suspending a shelf clip from a vertical mounting gusset designed to be hung on the supporting surface, such that the attitude of the clip relative to the supporting surface can be adjusted. Adjusting means such as an adjusting screw engaged in a hole tapped through the clip bears against the mounting gusset to limit the travel of the clip under the weight of the shelf. The position of the adjusting screw thus determines the attitude of the portion of the shelf being supported by the clip.

  • Patent number: 4634010
Abstract: Improvements in store fixtures are disclosed. In one aspect of the invention, a pant rack is provided by a series of modular display units which are individually supported on a rail and each of which includes wire supports for carrying a pair of pants to be displayed. Another aspect of the invention concerns the fact that the garment supports are pivotally coupled to a frame of the display rack by offset pivot pins arranged so that the racks always return to a central position. A further aspect of the invention concerns an arrangement for supporting the rail which carries the pant racks.

  • Patent number: 4573584
Abstract: A security device is disclosed and is designed to allow articles secured by the device to be manipulated while remaining effectively secured. The device is particularly useful for securing articles of clothing which are required to be available for examination and trying on but which must be effectively secured to prevent theft. The device includes a plurality of flexible elongate elements each adapted to retain at least one article to be secured and an anchor member for the elements. The elements are releasably secured in an elongate slot in the anchor member and a lock is provided for preventing unauthorized release of the flexible elements.

  • Patent number: 4560214
Abstract: A merchandise show case convertible between different display configurations. The case includes a carcass structure having a base and end walls or gables extending upwardly from the base. Top and front panels, e.g. glass panels are supported on top and front edges of the end walls for defining a display space. The panels are held in place by an external rectangular frame which traps the edges of the panels against the edges of the end walls. In one embodiment, the frame includes top and bottom cross members. The bottom cross member is hinged to the base of the show case and the top cross member can be releasably secured at the back so that, when released, the frame can be tipped forward to allow the panels to be easily removed and/or changed.

  • Patent number: 4560257
Abstract: Various geometric structures are disclosed. In a preferred embodiment, the structure is a mirror cube formed by five rectangular mirrors defining four sides and a top panel, and an inset base. Upper and lower frames extend around upper and lower margins of the side panels and are coupled together by clamping means. In one embodiment, these clamping means comprise a bolt extending between an inner top panel and the base and releasable from below the base. Other forms of structure are disclosed and may be used as, say, packing cases, furniture structures and the like.
