  • Patent number: 8623489
Abstract: The dunnage can be used for protecting edges of articles such as wood furniture during shipping and has a honeycomb panel having a first and second opposed faces, and a first and second adjacent panel sections folded relative to each other along a V-groove extending into the first face, a layer of antiskid cohesive material applied on the V-groove and maintaining said first and second adjacent panels in said folded configuration, and also applied on a substantial portion of one of said first and second adjacent panel sections, on the first face. The cohesive on the exposed face of the folded dunnage acts as an antiskid which reduces the likelihood of the dunnage sliding once applied to the edge of the article, and also reduces the abrasiveness of the honeycomb panel. A process of production is also disclosed where the V-groove can be made on line.

  • Publication number: 20110259895
Abstract: The use of expanded polymers can be at least reduced by using repulpable materials. For instance, insulation characteristics of insulated boxes can be provided by a core of honeycomb repulpable material. Further, the insulation characteristics can be further enhanced by loosely filling cells of the honeycomb structure with particles held in the cells by two skins on opposite faces of the core.

  • Publication number: 20080086982
Abstract: The insulating panel has a honeycomb structure core made of repulpable material and two skins sandwiching the core. Insulating particles can be used in the cells. One or both skins can have a layer of thermally insulating material, such as expanded polystyrene, for example. Nonetheless, by incorporating some repulpable components, the insulating panel can be made more interesting to recycle than an all-expanded-polystyrene insulating panel. The process of making can include driving a honeycomb web made of repulpable material and having a first and a second opposite faces, and adhering a first skin web to the first face. Optionally, the cells can be filled by insulating particle. A second skin web is applied to the second face.

  • Publication number: 20020192406
Abstract: The present invention relates to repulpable wrappers comprising water-activatable adhesive(s). The present invention is also concerned with methods for wrapping a master roll of paper manufactured in a paper-maker plant. The present invention is also concerned with a master roll of paper wrapped with a wrapper having a water-activated adhesive. The wrappers of the invention are fully recyclable and fully repulpable. They are also less sensitive to blocking than regular commonly used wrappers. The methods for wrapping master rolls of paper according to the invention are more effective and much more environmentally friendly than the methods actually used in the industry.
