  • Publication number: 20060105010
Abstract: The invention prevents the occurrence of bladder infections by means of a silver-doped bladder implant that, upon placement at the entry of the bladder, results in the elimination of up to 95% of the germs arriving in the bladder via the urethra. The device not only prevents the occurrence of infection over a period of many months, but also enables the treatment of an existing infection. The device comprises a carrier adapted to be inserted and forming an implant body in the urinary bladder, and an active agent on the carrier having at least one of germicidal properties and properties that render germs ineffective to produce disease.

  • Patent number: 6981951
Abstract: Indicators (4) are provided on one side of an indicator carrier (5) for controlling urine which has been caught in a measuring cell (1). The indicators can be perceived through a window (3). The measuring cell (1) is provided with an inlet on the side opposite the window (3). The aim of the invention is to guide urine from the inlet (6) to the indicators 94). To this end, the inventive device has a fluid transport means (9), e.g., blotting paper, which can transport fluid by virtue of the capillarity thereof. A soaking material, e.g., a soaking cushion, can be arranged between the inlet (6) and the indicator carrier (5). Said cushion becomes soaked and locks the inlet (6) when catching urine.

  • Patent number: 5312379
Abstract: A device (1) for collecting uncontrollably released urine including an introducing tube (2) passing a transparent collecting device. The invention proposes checking the collected urine as to impending and existing germinal infections by providing indicators (10) that are applied to a urine-exposed side of a control card (9, 9', 9'', 9''') attached inside the collecting device (3), and covering the control card (9 to 9''') on its urine-exposed side with a membrane (17) that slows down the reception of urine, on the one hand, and works against the indicators being washed out, on the other hand. The indicators (10) of the control card (9, 9', 9'', 9''') are protected from indication errors due to the slow passage of urine through the membrane (17).
