  • Patent number: 9041233
Abstract: The present invention defines a system and method aiming at measuring the direct solar radiation received by a wind turbine generator in order to detect ice formation. The measured value is subsequently compared to a theoretical radiation curve wherein measured values on a cloudy day will be well below theoretical curves. Ice detection is made considering the presence of clouds and temperature. Measured parameters are preferably the direct sun radiation transmittance and ambient temperature.

  • Publication number: 20130057197
Abstract: The invention relates to a generator that consists of a thin casing having two main opposite walls, one of which is largely occupied by a photovoltaic cell panel (1) facing a system of diode-based (2) lighting, either light emitting diodes (LED) or organic light emitting diodes (OLED). Both the photovoltaic cell panel and the lighting system are associated with a battery or electric accumulation system such that said element supplies the lighting system, and is also supplied through the appropriate circuitry by the photovoltaic cell panel (1) the light emitted being transformed into energy.

  • Patent number: 8072676
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method to affect natural lighting profiles in a programmable window made from a single transparent membrane, wherein the method comprises: forming a matrix comprising of pixel elements within the single transparent membrane, setting (in a programmable controller) a degree of shading in at least one pixel in the matrix, receiving control command(s) from the programmable controller and, in response to the control command(s), independently driving the pixel(s) within the single transparent membrane to set its/their opacity according to the degree of shading. The degree of shading in each pixel within the single transparent membrane is controlled by controlling percentage of light transmitted according to the control command(s) issued by the programmable controller.

  • Patent number: 7796322
Abstract: Natural lighting profiles are affected in a building facade and internal transparent membrane using a transparent sheet having one or more pixel elements, wherein each of the pixel elements is capable of being driven to control opacity (by shading). A programmable controller is used to send control commands to control opacity of the pixel elements, wherein the percentage of light transmitted through the display panel forming part of the facade is controlled via the controller.

  • Patent number: 6504734
Abstract: The switched power converter comprises a first rectifier module (11-1) connected to a first capacitor (11-2) that, in turn, is connected to an excitation module (11-3) that applies a voltage to some input terminals (PT-1, PT-2) of a piezoelectric transformer (PT). A controller device (11-3-3) governs the excitation module (11-3) in order that the piezoelectric transformer (PT) works at constant frequency and regulates the power delivered to the output of the converter by enabling/disabling the voltage applied to the terminals (PT-1, PT-2). When the piezoelectric transformer (PT) is not transferring energy between its input terminals (PT-1, PT-2) and its output terminals (PT-3, PT-4), the converter output voltage is supplied by a second capacitor included in a second filter (11-6).
